Needed to Update
BM should push out an update specifically for this player which hasn't been updated since 2019! I had trouble with this app not working until I downloaded their latest Black Magic RAW installer from their website. Now that the RAW codec support has been updated on my mac, the player functions properly again.

I’m on a 2013 12-Core Xeon E5 MacPro with the AMD FirePro D700s, running macOS 10.13.1, and this application doesn’t do anything when I open a clip with it. In fact, it doesn’t even register in the Activity Monitor. Nothing. Not a pleasant experience, and definitely not something that makes me enthusiastic about trying Blackmagic RAW as an alternative to Arri and RED.

I felt the need to defend this app. The app works just fine on my computer. the way the app works is you open it and just leave it open, you go to your BRAW file double click, and you can now see the videos. no issues on this side of the street.
