This electronic edition app lets subscribers read the daily newspaper on an iOS device with all the pages, stories, ads and photos shown as they appeared in print. Digital subscribers can access current and back issues of the newspaper. The Wisconsin State Journal e-Edition contains Wisconsin and Madison news, sports, business, crime, government, breaking news, analysis, opinion and obituaries.
App doesn’t work
If I could give zero stars, I would. App no longer works. You have to go thru browser to get the eedition. Paper has truly gone down hill with price increasing. Went to digital version only to be as disappointed
Awful
I have e-mailed the journal as they accept my payment, but I can’t get current issues of the e- edition on my app. I can call customer service, but am hearing impaired so that just adds a layer of frustration. They don’t respond to my e-mails. AND THEN YOU WONDER WHY THE MEDIA HAS LOST SO MUCH RESPECT!
No longer used
Really unfortunate this is no longer supported. I am unlikely to keep a subscription with the new app.
No longer works
The discontinued support for this app. You now need to download their crappy web app.
Not an improvement
When you magnify the page, it centers it. If you try to move the page to see other content, it shrinks again. So, you’d better be interested only in what’s in the center of the page.
Solid Local Paper
I wish the State Journal still had the resources to provide the kind of local newspaper experience we had in the 20th century. It and, especially, the Cap Times maintained high standards of reporting and reflected well the different voices of the community. Life is different now, but the combo of the State Journal and Cap Times is still worth reading, if only for a small handful of articles each day. The electronic version is done well. Madison.com is a disaster. I cannot believe that anyone reads it. Too bad. Madison is a reasonably high tech community that could deal with something much better. Of course, I, along with most of my friends, get much better news coverage from The NY Times, WaPo and the Boston Globe, among other sources. It is difficult to compete with what they can provide. Lee Enterprises is doing better than other publishers but that is really faint praise. I just home that the folks in local news markets figure this all out so we can still have some kind of decent coverage of what is happening here.
Much Better!
