Folks, I normally don't write a review unless I have a complaint about something, but I just HAVE to write a review about this app to say that I'm delighted with LocalNow (and I think everyone else will be too!) I never heard about this app until I got a Roku streaming device and actually found it by accident while browsing through the free apps; I thought ehh why not, it's free, and added it. At first, I didn't bother to create an account bcuz you CAN access content without it and I was surprised to see a nearby city's live news feed and there's also a great movie selection.. but I was already getting my "local" news through another app so I didn't think much about it; until I began to notice that the other news app SAID it was "Live News" but it actually wasn't- it would show clips of prerecorded "live" news interspersed with a gazillion commercials. So I returned to LocalNow and created an account so I could personalize the content and have a saved watch list etc. Well.. now the "live news" IS ACTUALLY LIVE!!!! LocalNow actually SHOWS the live news!!! Okay and here's the cherry on the sundae... my Roku device malfunctioned right when the local news broadcast was starting: despite an hour of unplugging, restarting, rebooting and calling my internet provider for troubleshooting, ZIPPO service on the Roku ((GRRRR)) and I was sitting here annoyed as H.. and it occurred to me to see if LocalNow has an app in the App Store ~~and it DOES!!!~~ so with no effort whatsoever beyond signing in and affirming my account (took like 3 minutes from downloading the app, signing in and verifying) I could watch my darn news at last PLUS now I have the security of knowing that even if I have a streaming issue with that stupid Roku device, I can watch whatever programming LocalNow has to offer ON MY PHONE, wherever I am-- I'm not tied to the TV anymore!!!!! ~~FOR FREE!!!~~ Seriously, folks... this is a must-have app!! My dad always said there's nothing truly free in this world but this IS!!! (Well, if you don't count data usage or gigs or something) Happy streaming!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Every other streaming app allows you to turn off the auto play feature. Very frustrating having the weather Blair to at you nonstop while you are trying to read the description of a movie.

While viewing a documentary, I was annoyed by the news and weather continuing to play in the background. I was unable to create an account on my iPad because the email used alphabetical characters, but the app only allowed numerals.

Perhaps good intent, and certainly advert breaks are to be expected, BUT this app seems predicated for ONLY to play interminable ads. Descending into unmitigated garbage. Nearly impossible to watch any title through conclusion.
