The feedly app gathers the content of your favorite websites, blogs, Youtube channels and RSS feeds in one place. It is the world's #1 reader with more than 15 million users. The feedly Mac app syncs seamlessly with the feedly iPhone app and the feedly iPad app so that you can read your favorite sites anytime, anywhere. The feedly Mac app has a few super powers that the feedly web interface does not include. 1) You get to easily login with a Google or Twitter account which is different from the one you use in our Safari browser. 2) You get a nice dock icon with an unread count badge. 3) The feedly Mac app is configured to handle feed:// URLs so that you can easily add new feeds to your feedly. 4) You have the possibility to open articles in a new tab inside the app without having to switch to your web browser. We know that a lot of you use feedly on a Mac. We are excited to embark on the journey of making the feedly Mac app the most efficient way to organize, read and share the content of your favorite sites. If you have suggestions on how to improve the experience, please join the open feedly community.
Had hopes when google shut down but disappointed.
I had high hopes for this app back when Google shutdown their RSS feed service. Used to use Reeder but left when it died. Unfortunately the App is not good and was unable to even buy a subscrition when offered. Moved on to somthing else since network issues are frustating.
Login Info Doesn't Save
I have to log in EVERY time I close and open this app. I'm using "sign in with apple" but it's not giving me the one click experience I would have with safari, so I'm having to use Apple's MFA every single time I open or close the app.
Pretty Terrible
The website is good, and the mobile app is good. But this mac app is not. I can get past most of the quirky little bugs, but having to log in EVERY TIME I open the app is beyond frustrating and why I'm now searching for litterally any acceptable competitors RSS reader. Goodbye Feedly. Oh, and don't even try to click the "? App Support" button, it loads a 404 page. Brilliant.
Update?
The app isn't perfect, but I like it well enough - just has a few bugs and rough edges that need polishing. Is there ever going to be an update?
The desktop app does not work and it hasn't for years
I don't really understand the mindset of the development and management team for Feedly. They ask you to pay quite a substantial amount to use their service, if you do choose to pay for it, but they offer no support what-so-ever. Why would anyone want to part with $120 annual for an app that absolutlely does not work? The desktop app is a mess. Attempt to do anything on it and it will error out with a message that "Feedly doesn't work on Safari"... uhhh ok? I'm using THE APP. I'm not on a browser. I've notified the dev team about this a few times and the response has just been... well - I mean it's been years and the desktop app still doesn't work if that tells you anything about the team behind Feedly. It's sad because Feedly is geniunely a great concept to read media but the dev / management team appear to have zero interest in maintaining it. Apple honestlt should remove it from the App Store. I honestly would not pay for this app. The customer service doesn't exist. It's actually worse than Samsung if you an believe it. Tragic but in my mind it's probably time to give up on Feedly the way it has given up on us and find a new way.
I've used it for years.
It is a very valuable tool to create a large database of tailored news to your needs. There is some learning how to effectively use it but it is not terribly difficult. I suggest a paid membership for anything more than casual use. Feedly can also be used to share to social media, note taking apps, and saved.
Buggiest app I have ever used - but I still like it
Please fix the bugs. I really do like having a separate app where I can open articles and leave my browser for other things. But dang is it buggy. Overall I like the layout and workings, but it has some serious issues. Please fix - I otherwise like it!
