A good start, but not a keeper
Being menu-bar based is a great idea, because it means you can get to the Back button quickly. (This is also better than floating UI, because it doesn't obscure other things you are doing.) But there are problems: - the "notch" that's common on Macs interferes with the menubar UI, making the Back button magically disappear - there's no way to list episodes in chronological order, which makes it hard to listen to them in the order they were released; there are two sorting choices, "Alphabetical" and "Episode Release," but neither of those results in actual release order (the devs obviously assume that Alphabetical will produce that order, but that fails for many reasons) - there's no convenient way to clear the "Up Next" playlist -- you have to right-click and then remove each item individually It's also silly to be expected to pay a subscription for an app like this. It's not like Arvocast is a platform that hosts and streams podcasts. This should be a one-time purchase.
Great App
Fantastic app, except with latest update on latest Monterey MacOs, there are no thumbnails on any pocast, just a gray generic icon. Kind of a drag to find what you want without that. Hope it's fixed soon!
Found bug in first 30 seconds
App has bug. After subscribing to a new podcast, the podcast tab has an entry with no information contained inside of it. If I restart the app then there is information inside of it. This happened on the very first podcast subscribed to after the app was downloaded and opened.
It's Good
I really like this app for playing podcasts on the Mac, it's the best UI for I've seen š! A downside is that it is missing some features that I really like from Pocket Casts or Overcast (for example). The thing that really doesn't do it for me is not being cross platform. Thereās no iPhone app, so unless you exclusively listen to just a couple podcasts where finding where you are isnāt hard, or you donāt listen on your phone then this would be a great option. Developer, correct me if Iām wrong?
10 stars
Amazing app, everything I wanted. Nothing is missing. Big thank you to developer of this app.
Seven stars
I tried many podcast applications and, in my opinion, this is the best. By far. It sits in the menu bar, making it always readily accessible (I don't have to dig it out of the application folder, the launchpad or the dock). The interface is clear and very intuitive, and quite beautiful too: it has the more modern/rounder aesthetic of the newest Apple OS X, rather than the square-ish design of similar older applications. Most importantly, I can find at a glance all the podcasts and episodes I have subscribed to without having to sift through pages of sponsored podcasts, things I might like (I never do, what the hell) and so on... I'm not a friend or a relative of the developer! (I'm in Italy, I found out he is in Australia.) But I had initially posted a four star review due to the application having some kind of conflict with another software I use to organize my menu bar. He contacted me, asked me to detail the issue, he fixed it with an update. He must have worked hours, days!, on that. So, yeah.. that was very cool and very much appreciated. I don't usually interact with developers, I usually don't even write reviews (what can I say, I'm selfish ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ ), but I just liked this app so much that I wanted it to be perfect. Now it is, not considering that it is free! Hence: five... six, seven stars...
