Agora is a podcast player that allows you to manage your content easily, stay tuned to each new update of your subscriptions and expand your catalogue discovering new content, but this is not everything… Features: - Smart Playlists. - Proximity sensor: Bring the cell phone to your ear and the episode will play. - Timer: Select the time you want the playback to stop. - Podcast speed control: Increases the audio tempo and saves time to listen to more episodes. - Radio - Dynamic Speed - Save subscriptions backup to iCloud automatically. - Manage your activity like a TODO app. - Custom themes (day, night and dynamic). - Rich notifications. - Playback stats - Simple gesture-based design to explore the app. - Quick access with 3D Touch. Agora has been crafted focusing on the little details and simplicity, and it would be much better if you help me with your feedback or suggestions. Thanks for being part of this journey. Enjoy :)
Confusing user interface
The app has an elegant but flawed user interface. Of particular concern is the bottom control bar. In none of the themes are the symbols able to be seen clearly. Maybe the dark theme is best in that it makes that bar gray, but then the top of the screen symbols disappear! What’s surprising is that it’s been like this for awhile. Hasn’t anyone complained about this before? Hasn’t the developer given the app design any further thought?
iPad app?
Love this app it’s amazing love the interface but I would love to see the app have a native iPad app I think it would look amazing please add a iPad app please and thank you
Love it so far
I was looking for a podcast app that was fairly basic but also looked good. This one is both of those. I love the swipe to play list then auto download feature.I’m hoping it doesn’t end up abandoned
Nope
Beautiful? Really? I really feel sad for all you folks who haven’t discovered Overcast, that again proves to be the pinnacle of podcast players whenever I look at another one. I’m sorry folks, I don’t see anything special about Agora 2. If you want the ultimate in flexibility you’re looking for Overcast. •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• Playlists? As many as I want. Adjustable time to skip forward/go back? Sure. Voice boost? Yup. Smart speed that shortens pauses dynamically? Works great. Smooth increase in speed that I choose? So handy. •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• Set the custom settings for each podcast across all episodes? Well, yeah. Who has time to make individual changes between episodes? Sort my playlists to my liking? Why even bother asking? Skip intro & outro? What, do you mean you’re doing it manually? •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• Choose how many episodes I want waiting around for me to listen? Don’t you have podcasts you’ll never miss and others you pick through? I have one show up, choose to download it on my storage rich phone or wait for me to decide on my iPad Pro 12.9 5th Gen with less memory. •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• ——— •••——— •• There are other features some you will love, some I don’t want to spend time explaining like under Nit Picky Details... As for iPads- do you know what get when you open this on one? How humiliating for the developer.
No chapter support, & show notes look weird
This is a nicely designed app and I was going to give it a chance as my main podcast app. But the show notes format are all screwed up. For example, if it’s an outline, the hierarchy is flattened to a list. Also links are broken so that they are underlined, but tapping them doesn’t do anything. The biggest problem is no chapter support. I need to be able the skip to specific chapters and easily skip to the next one. A lot of podcast don’t even make use of show notes or chapters so, if none of yours do, give this player a shot because it’s pretty good. But for me I just can’t.
Best podcast app ever!
Perfect animation, minimal design with complete features.
Design is amazing, missing CarPlay
I’d been looking for a Podcasts replacement and stumbled upon this, finding the design so pleasing and simple. My only complaint is that CarPlay functionality seems to be missing despite it showing up in the change log some time ago and I wish there was an app for Watch
Bug fixes and general maintenance. All set for next BIG move!
