Help support snowmobiling in New York State by purchasing the New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA) Mobile App! A portion of the proceeds go to NYSSA to promote snowmobiling and other snowmobile club projects in New York State. The NYSSA mobile app brings current snowmobile trail information and points of interest into live online and OFFLINE map capabilities. This is far from a static map as NYSSA’s 200+ clubs have LIVE access to update trail status as well as add warnings, reroutes and points of interest through their administrative access. Clubs also have access to add their own local trails, with new trails being added and updated regularly. Some of the highlights of the app: -Choose between both online (live updates) and OFFLINE maps. Offline maps updates are available daily. -See your current location and heading, allowing the app to follow your location. -Breadcrumb tracking of current location and new navigation mode (new for 2020) -View current trail status (open, closed, unreported), closures, and reroutes -Find fuel, food, lodging, parking and ride locations, parts and service, and scenic or points of interest recommended by NYSSA and clubs. -Click on trails or points of interest to see more information -Measure distances and areas -Choose between multiple basemaps including imagery -Search for locations and address -Toggle layers on and off Please contact us (email link within the app) with suggestions for future updates. We look forward to working with the snowmobile community in our future development efforts! Notes: *Trail status, reroutes, and related points are maintained by the clubs and may not always be accurate. **Continued use of GPS will quickly drain battery life. It is recommended to turn off GPS when not required or plug into a power source during extended use. ***This purchase is for the 2020-2021 season. The app will continue to work through October 2021, and will time out on November 1st, 2021. Another purchase is required for the 2021-2022 season***
App crashes on every ride
I like the app, but every ride it crashed mid ride as I use it as my GPS. And usually after 30-45 minutes the app just closes and I have to reopen it. I would love for it to have some way for you to put your own route in as well.
Nice app but
App kept shutting off after say 20 or 30 min.
Pretty poor
Could be s much better.
Daily planning
This app shows real time club info as reported for trail reroutes or closures. Great tool
NYSSA
The app works great! Use it to traverse the trails easier than any other app out there.
Very disappointed. (Updated)
Seemed like an awesome app at first but the more I use it the more I dislike it. It glitches and freezes ,doesn’t load maps, or won’t let me download offline maps regardless of my internet connection type. This needs work but could really be a nice tool. (Update) Seems like the app does work better now and I am pretty happy with it. What I like the most is it shows the little connector trails that the Ride Command app doesn’t show.
Broken: No Offline maps available to download
Downloaded the app, which is paid and was prompted to download maps for offline use. It directed to refresh the app. After attempting to refresh the app no maps are available in the app to view or download for offline use. The clubs want us to use this to make sure we are on approved trails but if you can never view maps or even download maps for offline viewing what’s the point. I would not spend money on this. It is poorly designed and even more poorly supported. Look elsewhere for cheaper options from Polaris or GPS trailmasters.
