This is just an offline map. You can download a better quality pdf from the LA Metro website and that will provide the same offline functionality for the same price and take up less space.

trying to get around LA public transit without using the busses would be like only using freeways with no streets. In other words, impossible! so why does this app have no bus map?!?

I was looking for an app that would improve upon Google Maps' navigation, which has been getting me to my connections 5-10 minutes before or after they come on a pretty consistent basis. This thing's trip planner is fast, offline, and easy to read... But it doesn't tell you when your buses come. It just tells you how often they run and how long your trip will take once you've gotten on your bus. This seems like a kind of unbelievable oversight if the goal was to build a navigation app, but I suppose it might have been intended as a reference and nothing more. Not worthless, just not what I was looking for.
