You can make detailed settings intuitively and visually from the app, that cannot be done on the instrument itself. ≪Function≫ * Editing voices You can easily change saxophone tones such as alto, soprano, tenor, and baritone tones, as well as synthesizer tones and shakuhachi tones. You can also adjust effects and make detailed sounds. * Edit fingering You can customize the fingertips by changing them or adding new ones. * Instrument settings You can adjust the blowing feeling such as breath resistance and response, and change the settings such as tuning. * Fingering list It is possible to display the registered fingers in a list. It is useful to check the fingering.
Can’t connect
Bought the appropriate cables to make it connect to an iPhone…. Does not work. Needs Bluetooth. Maybe the app is good, wouldn’t know.

New sax user banks in C, essentially adds a C-Mel set, and some WITHOUT vibrato that can be changed to any key or sound of course. New function to show which keys are being pressed excellent for teaching. Thanks Yamaha for a useful and requested update.

Far too Spartan. Needs smaller pitch bend. Better Bluetooth. Easier fx control. Why drop the ball like this when they just need to carry it a little farther? Maybe they will update it in the future.

The app won’t open. It gets stuck on the agreements page every time. No matter how often I delete the app and reinstall it. And the instrument desperately needs the app because it is so limited on its own. So far the entire thing has been a huge disappointment.

One of the great things about having a setup/configuration app is it makes it easier to set up and configure the horn. What would also be great is if it got better over time and added some new features like being able to turn off vibrato or add alternate fingerings or pushed new voices from time to time to the horn or let you edit the voices even more. Or gives tips on how to connect to midi. Also, is there an official user forum for the YDS-150 anywhere on Yamaha hosted site?

Fingering chart correct, but does not play the correct pitches.....will not save or recognize edited fingerings!
