Tape Cassette 2 is an audio plugin that emulates the warmth, noise and character of old tape cassettes. Following up from our well received Tape Cassette 1, we’ve updated the plugin with a sleek interface and more changes under the hood too. Along with a brand new selectable Type 1 Cassette Impulse Response (IR), we’ve improved the saturation algorithm, wow & flutter engine and implemented real sampled tape noise, all which results in a wonderfully warm and more accurate vintage sound. In addition to this you now have two VU meters to monitor your audio and built in oversampling. You can easily add that classic sound to an entire track, or use directly on individual channels, for added movement, texture and warmth. Alternatively you can take it further than the material limitations of tape and push the parameters into a far more experimental soundscape, as a sound design tool. Parameters: ⁃ Saturation (+/-24dB) ⁃ Low Pass Filter (5 to 22KHz) ⁃ Noise (-80 to 0 dB) ⁃ Wow (0 to 100%) ⁃ Flutter (0 to 100%) - IR (On/Off) - Auto-Gain (On/Off) - Output (+/-24dB) Tape Cassette 2 is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.
Caelum Audio is in my watch list! Fun and Amazing!
CA has such a unique way of looking at how technology and music mesh in this new digital age! I didn’t even know there was an international joke day … but thanks to these guys I look forward to I.J.D. as much as I used to look forward to Christmas as a child! I imagine working at CA would be a blast, and it shows in the fun they bring to their approach to sound! Thanks guys, honestly, you have made recording in IOS fun again! For that you deserve a shout out. Much Love!
Really cool
I think this is an easy to use app to add some color to your sounds. I mean, it sounds like an old tape. You can only use one instance of it at a time though in AUM.
Very nice.
This is a super useful effect. The saturation knob is first class. However, I don’t quite understand why lowering saturation makes the noise more audible, this part of the simulation does not sound authentic. Also, it would be nice to be able to modulate the noise somehow or at least be able to EQ it independently.
Wonderful it just needs one thing
This is amazing it just needs an output gain control so you can saturate something really heavy and then bring the level back down to a reasonable level.
First one was good
Is this one even gooder? They’ll both stay in my select group of keepers!
- Bug fixes. - New preset system. - Optimisations.
