TabBook is the iPad app for guitar, bass, mandoline and drum players. TabBook saves the tab directly to your iPad, so that you can play even without an internet connection. You add your tabs on tabbookapp.com, and by selecting "Download new tabs" on the iPad you can save the added tabs to your iPad. The built in Auto-Scroller scrolls the tab automaticly, so you don't have to stop playing to continue reading. The new playlist function allows you to create playlists so you can play your songs live, without having to search for them in a list. Why would i want to add my own tabs instead of using others? Because 9 out of 10 times there are more than one version of a tab, that way you will always have to search trough all the tabs to find the correct one. With TabBook you have all your favorite tabs in one place, no searching, just playing! Playing your own songs has never been this easy. With TabBook 3 you can save Tabs locally on your iPad, so you can play them even without an internet connection. You can create playlists so you don't have to select a new tab to continue playing. There is also a search engine built directly into TabBook 3, now you don't have to add Tabs via TabBookApp.com to start playing. Just search for your favorite songs and add them directly on your iPad, if the song you are looking for is not there, just add it directly on your iPad. It's never been easier getting started to play your favorite tunes!
Tabbook 2
Don't waste your money. I have contacted the developer months ago and told him about major problems with his app. He committed to fixing it. Nothing has happened since then. The scrolling text slows down towards the end of the song, so eventually you have to stop playing, waiting for the text to catch up. There is no function to save the tempo of each song, thus one has to guess the scroll speed each time on a sliding scale. Rather invest in PDF turning pedal. It is a pity because this app has huge potential...
Waste of money!
I downloaded this app to work on bass but there are no bass tabs on it and the library is weak. I wasted the money to go with the "unlimited" tabs. Very poor.
A Decent Idea, But Poor Execution
The design is nice, but there is a very limited library and it is hard to navigate. I would pass on this app.
Great idea...but!!!
Love the concept, but I installed it on my iPad and when I press the Settings button to try to change the font, the program crashes. If that worked, this would be the best guitar music app ever. Please fix it in an update. I would pay $20 for an app like this that worked.
GREAT CONCEPT
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED FOR SOLO AND SMALL GIGS AND THE AUTO SCROLL IS THE BEST FEATURE. SO FAR IM LOVING IT THE ONLY SUGGESTIONS I WOULD HAVE IS 5 MORE SCROLLING SPEEDS AND ALSO I DONT LIKE THE FACT THAT I CANNOT CHANGE FONT SIZE OR ZOOM. WHEN SAVING MY TAB I ENLARGED IT BUT WHEN I PASTED IT , THE PROGRAM RESIZES IT. OTHER THAN HAVING TROUBLE SEEING THE TAB ON A GIG, THIS OVERALL IS A FANTASTIC APP
Great app
Loving this app. Unfortunately i updated before reading their site and now the app isnt working. There is a fix coming soon though. Really nice to be able to create my own tab book!
most complicated service
1. you download the app 2. register an account 3. login to find out that from the app you can do nothing at first 4. start up browser 5. go to their website and login 6. to find out that you still cannot do anything, without your OWN tabs, but then you realize, "Ah! From now on its simple!" So, you go to a website with tabs, copy the tab, past it into the appropriate page on the website, fill out the data, start the app on your iDevice, download the tab which you added on the website earlier, and NOW! YES! you have access to your own tab on which you worked for 10 minutes to get it there! But wait, all you can do is watch it scroll...well, better than nothing I guess!
