Strng is a string synthesiser inspired by the karplus-strong algorithm. The physical modelling starts with a short burst of noise that then guided by a tuned delay buffer and string tension filter, generates plucked string like sounds. No samples are used. Strng is 16 voice polyphonic and can be controlled with an in app 25 key chromatic keyboard or connect prefered midi controller through USB or Wifi. To further shape the sound two post effects are available, a ping-pong stereo delay and two channel resonant filter controlled by two LFOs. Connect to other apps through AudioBus, inter app audio or load in DAWs as AUv3. +++ String synthesis engine +++ 16 voice polyphonic +++ Audiobus, IAA and AUv3 +++ Core MIDI, bluetooth midi and limited MPE +++ 25 multitouch keyboard with aftertouch control +++ Factory presets, save and load your own settings, drag'n drop from files app +++ Aftertouch modulation for attack, sustain, bit crush, resonant filter and detune lfo +++ Stereo ping-pong delay +++ Two channel resonant low pass filter LFOs
Great Synthesis
This is a gem. What fun!
Wonderful
Wonderful and beautifully designed. Love the sounds it is capable of creating!
Mind blown... Again
I’m seriously floored I didn’t realize this developer had all these other gems in addition to Tardigrain. Purchase the bundle earlier today and I cannot believe how much value there is to be had with the purchase! Most of the time, when buying a bundle without having a really good feel for each app, my hope is that I’ll at least find one app out of the mix that “sticks” (i.e. 4 app bundle, if I end up liking 1 or 2 of them and the rest go in the garbage or in some obscure folder I’ll probably never open for years, I’d typically consider that a win given how much crap there is in the market). In this case, I actually cannot decide which one to focus in on because they’re all so amazing.. The sounds and the UI are gorgeous. Nothing bugs me more than a beautiful app that sounds like a potato (except an ugly app that sounds great!) Huge value with this bundle or any of the apps. I cannot believe there’s not a bigger buzz around this dev.
Volume pedal issue AUv3
Good sound and easy to use but midi expression pedal works in standalone app but not in host AUv3 app like Camelot. I’m keyboard player and need to fade string sounds in and out as fits song so can’t use this live.
One of my most used synth apps
I think I paid $3 for this app, but it’s easily worth $20. Simple intuitive interface reminiscent of the op-1 string synth. I love the new update, excited to try the rest of the bundle. Thanks dude I love your work!
Neat app but very quiet.
Wish there was a way to increase the volume.
Price/Quality misaligned
Occasionally an inexpensive app proves to be indispensable and it restores your faith in cheap apps, which is then disappointed by buying many useless cheap apps hoping each will reward your willingness to invest in them but instead just use up memory. Given the price you might assume that there is a bigger, better app to do what this one does. There isn’t. Now w/ AUv3 support this is the bigger, better app. Nothing else does strings like this. Laplace is closest but, as it’s not focused on strings it does not give the explicit control over string parameters the way this app does. I cannot replicate the sound with anything else. This should cost $10-$15 if compared to similar quality apps.
