Exactly what I was looking for!
I didn’t want Apple Music or Apple Radio on my kids iPods, so I really wanted just a simple music player (for our library) that doesn’t contain ads or the fancy streaming services. This is exactly what I was looking for! It seems I won’t be able to delete the default player without losing our entire music library, but I was able to add a screen time limit to just the default player for 60 seconds a day and disable Apple Music in the settings. Apple Music search is still in the default app, but not much you can get into in 60 seconds. Thank you for making this simple music player!
Won't open
From the description and two of the reviews, this sounded like it was exactly the app I had hoped to find. I installed and opened it, granted permission to access my media library, and it didn't find anything to list. My library has songs that are easily located and played by other apps, just not this app. I closed the app and tried to reopen it, but it wouldn't launch. Deleted and reinstalled, and same thing happened again. I hope these issues are resolved soon, I still need a basic music player.
Love it...when it works
This is a great app for playing music. Easier to use than the Apple Music app that comes with the iPhone. The problem is that sometimes - 1 out of 5 times or so, it won’t open. I have to delete and reinstall. Kind of outweighs the good.
Apple take some hints
This is how the apple music app should look like and operate. Most importantly playlists are shown in the correct order (never imagined this can be a challenge until iOS “Friday the 13th” in which all my playlists are sorted and play backwards!).
Just plays music like it should
Doesn't try to connect me to iTunes when I'm on the subway when I have no service.
