Not working well
Everyone seems to love this app, and the design is great, but it seems to have gone without updates for a while. Music plays, but the currently playing track does not update accordingly. The current track time also doesn’t work and always shows 0 time remaining.
Best Plex music player for iOS hands down
I love this app and use it every day. Very well made, feels native!
Abandoned?
This app hasn’t been updated in over a year. The foundation for something great is here, and this dev has certainly proved their abilities with the Prologue app for audiobooks, but Plexamp is probably a better choice until this app shows signs of life. Plexamp might not be utterly flawless, but it is getting regular updates and new features. You’re gonna need to purchase the premium version of Prisim to really get the features you want (downloads, refined sorting, etc.), but again, there’s just no upkeep here. If you run into an issue or find something broken, that’s it.
does exactly what it says perfectly
😄
A better journey
Whereas PlexAmp focuses more on eye-candy over functionality, Prism demonstrates a clear commitment to usability. Offline and online listening is well thought out and unified. Downloading tracks are managed within one centralized library view (not two like PlexAmp does). Long press and tracks/albums will download immediately and show a tag. Just filter the entire library by “downloaded”, and now you have your localized library suitable for commuting through cellular dead zones. The downloaded tracks sit in a folder on the device. Update 10/8/23 - Still going strong but does have more issues on iOS17 it seems. I hope the developer returns soon to clean up some loose ends. Or maybe go open source and post the code on GitHub? It’s worthy of the attention.
great app
feature request: keyboard support on ipad for space bar pause
Extremely Effective
I really appreciate the effort here. Whereas PlexAmp focuses a bit more on eye-candy over functionality, Prism demonstrates a clear commitment to usability. Offline and online listening is well thought out and unified. Downloading tracks is managed within a tab, but everything shows within one centralized library view (not two like PlexAmp does). Tracks and albums show tags if downloaded. THEN, you can easily filter the entire library by “downloaded”, and now you have your localized library suitable for commuting through cellular dead zones. Moreover, I downloaded hundreds of tracks at one time, with no crashes or issues. Very stable.
Improved - Support for media keys when running on macOS Fixed - Layout issues when “Show button shapes” accessibility setting is enabled - Layout issues when larger accessibility font sizes are enabled - Download manager button displaying incorrect download count after cancelling / clearing download queue In 2.6.3
