Great app; latest update still crashes on MIDI file open
Last two updates of the app still crash when trying to open a known good MIDI file on a 2019 MacBookPro with core i9 CPU running MacOS Ventura.
My default MIDI player
I really enjoy all of the visualization features. One issue, though -- MIDITrail does not have a volume control. I don't like to adjust my main system volume and MIDITrail is extremely loud compared to other apps. I don't know the technical aspects of MIDI playback, but even if the volume was an emulated volume control, it would be very desireable. Thank you! :-)
Fantastic app killed in latest update...
,,,on a Mac Studio 12.6.1. Crashes consistantly.
Good MIDI playback for complete pieces of music
Would have rated five stars if music playback could be paused or stopped without leaving our pipe organ droning. During pause or stop, notes that are currently playing all need to be silenced.
Terrific Visualization Tool
This app is a great tool for allowing you to see how the structure of a song unfolds over time. It is also highly customizable, especially if you're willing to get under the hood a bit. Looking forward to future iterations!
It works and is beautiful
After OS X 10.15 QuickTime dropped MIDI support, I basically stopped playing MIDI files until I found this. It plays MIDI -- but the best part is that it not only looks great displaying the score, it actually helps you gain insight into the music. I have used ProTools MIDI GUIs for years and this is really something special.
