United StatesChowCentaur is an audio plugin emulation of the renowned Klon Centaur guitar pedal. The emulation features the three knob parameters from the original pedal, along with a bypass switch, and a menu to choose between two different emulation modes. The "Traditional" emulation mode uses traditional circuit modelling techniques, while the "Neural" mode uses a recurrent neural network. ChowCentaur began as a research project, intending to compare the benefits and drawbacks of different circuit modelling techniques. Put this up against the Nembrini version and it’s pretty impressive how clear and articulate this is… does what a great boost should which is to make a great amp scream and sing without getting in the way or too much overt coloration. Using this in front of THU fender amp rigs feel so lifelike and expressive it gives me a huge grin and it’s such a great time to be a guitarist with all this emerging iOS sim software. The original Klon Centaur is considered the most legendary boutique overdrive pedal of all time, and with that distinction comes a lot of hype. You can buy a used Klon today for $5000-$8000, or you can get this free ChowCentaur emulation that is absolutely amazing. ChowCentaur is one of the best overdrive pedal sims on iOS. It’s articulate, responsive, and can get you from a transparent gain boost all the way to a flowing sexy hard rock rhythm and lead tone. The signal to noise ratio on this pedal is remarkable when compared to others on iOS. I wish I could pay for this! This is THE sweet saturated mid-gain guitar overdrive pedal to beat!

I like it I was able to get a nice sound for guitar and a nice distortion on a vocal but it did not save my work all settings returned to default after reopening is there something I am missing that is why only a 2 star rating if it saved my work it would be 5 Thank you for the update as I said before I love the sound and now that my settings are saved a 5 star review thank you for a nice sounding and working plugin

I can’t believe this gem is free. I have been looking for a pedal or amp sim that provides sweet singing distortion that retains the tone of the guitar....and until Chow Centaur, I didn’t find anything that sounded right. This pedal does that and more.
