The Oral Contraceptives app features a database of over 200 FDA-approved name brand and generic oral contraceptives available in the United States. The app includes a browsable index of birth control pills that allows physicians, nurses and family planning professionals to quickly reference essential drug information and identify equivalent alternative brands. Physicians can also conveniently filter drugs by estrogen and progestin dosage and find specialized formulations by feature. Need to find all the available estrophasic oral contraceptives? Get info on the only chewable birth control pill? This app makes it easy! Emergency contraceptives are also covered and a handy contraceptive efficacy chart is also available for reference. Note that this application is provided for informational purposes only and is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a physician.
Great app—please update!
Have been using for years but really needs content update!
Great app - needs update
As a women’s health NP, I use this app all the time to navigate the endless sea of generic OCPs. It is quick and easy to use. I love that I can sort by progestin type, name, etc. The problem is that there are multiple new generics out there and the app hasn’t been updated to reflect this. It would also be nice to be able to make personalized notes within the app.
Great app but needs updating
Please update your list! There’s new stuff out there, and I use this app all the time to guide my decisions on which pill to give.
New interface is great
I've always found this app to be a fast pocket resource. The redesign has made it more attractive and, more importantly, easier to use.
Please update
GREAT APP but as a gynecologist who prescribes oral contraceptives daily please please update this. I feel that generic OCPs are added to the market so frequently it would be wonderful to have this periodically updated.
Great Resource
As someone who prescribes OCPs for women, I find this to be a great reference tool. It gives you the brand & generic names, phasing, cycle and equivalent pills. You can also arrange by estrogen dose, progestin type etc. They also threw in a contraceptive efficacy chart. My only complaints however, are that the app has not been updated since 2011, which makes me wonder if the information is up to date. Also, the interface needs to be updated and optimized to keep up with current technology. The interface looks like one that was designed for iPhone 3 (certainly not optimized for 6-plus that I’m using).
Good app but don't buy if you wrk n canada
I was so excited & bought this app. In their first info paragraph they state 'ocps in the US.'. Kickn myself. The ocp i need to find an equivalent isn't listed. Plz add Canadian meds. Iwork n both countries.
