The Interstitial Cystitis Network Food List App is designed to help patients struggling with urinary discomfort choose foods that will soothe rather than irritate their bladders. Ideal for use when shopping or eating out, it contains a searchable database of more than 250 foods broken out into three categories: bladder friendly, try it and caution. For the first time in any IC food list, wine, beer and spirits are also included. This is the second release of our IC/BPS Food List.
Too many clicks
You have to click into each category and then each food to learn the evaluation of each food item. There needs to be a better “at a glance” list. Color coding would help a lot. Also the ability to indicate which foods are safe or not for me would take this to the next level. Not likely to use this when I’m out as I would spend too much time looking at my phone, taking time away from the people I am with
App crashes when you use search bar
You can only find foods by scrolling tediously through categories. You can’t use the search bar causes the app to close and crash.
Very helpful and useful
I started using this app after being diagnosed with IC I find it very useful only thing I wish it had was an option to mark the foods that I’m able to or can’t eat some of the green zone are triggers for me and I’d like to be able to track what try it foods that gave me triggers or what was safe to eat. Otherwise this app is great I'm able to look up foods when not home and not having to carry my IC diet book.
Just use google
I’m kind of sorry I spent money on this app. It’s a nice list, but not at all exclusive. Chocolate is bad - what about white or macha chocolate? Molasses? It’s also VERY preachy about fat, sugar, artificial flavoring, etc. I honestly wonder if some foods are on the bad list not because they cause IC, but because the developers think they’re unhealthy. Arbitrary. I need an IC only guide. I already know dyed popsicles aren’t the best food choice.
Fantastically Simple
As someone who is just entering the complex world of IC, this app has been a godsend in its simplicity. The rating system is straightforward and effective - and that sentiment applies to the design of the app, as well. It is direct, easy to navigate, and quick to read. Cannot support this app enough. Saves me hours of research and I could not be happier.
Update
Please make the list more thorough and make the search feature more robust to make the app worth it. Nice project, and I’m happy to chance my review if there is some attention given to this.
Great!
Such an easy app to use! You are able to easily search for either ingredients or foods and check to see if they are friendly, try it or caution. It’s not the largest list of items so be sure to check with your doctor and use caution trying items not listen but overall a great and helpful app!
This is a significant update with a new user interface and a universal build that runs on both iPhones and iPads. Adds new foods, reorganizes content and simplifies the user interface.
