This unique and beautiful app offers an inspirational reading for each day of the Omer. A perfect companion to Omer: A Counting. App Features: - Find Today's Reading with a tap - Set reminder alerts at sunset or a specified time - Bookmark your favorite readings for quick access - Add voice and text notes for reflection - Mark cards as "read" - see if you can reach 100% "Daily contemplation and consideration enable us to focus our attention and heighten our awareness toward the importance and sacred energy of our lives. For forty-nine days, or seven weeks, we take on a discipline and an obligation to mindfully enter the day, to be aware of its potential power to matter, to make a difference, to make it count for something. I offer a set of forty-nine cards, divided into seven spiritual principles: Decide, Discern, Choose, Hope, Imagine, Courage, and Pray. Each day its own thought, each week its own theme, to help illuminate your days. We count, and in doing so, make an accounting of who we are and who we want to be." - Rabbi Karyn Kedar
Ok Omer App
Some issues getting this app’s day one correct and the reminder alarm to work. They seem to be connected to location settings. Daily quotes are thoughtful so far, though not connected to the sfirot so far. I downloaded this for the gender neutral-ish translation of the blessing. That is helpful.
Does not work again
This app does not work, yet again. I guess I just bought it for a one time use. Very disappointing.
Great App for Counting the Omer
This is truly a wonderful app. It’s simple and perfect. Each day shows a beautiful saying with a photograph behind. Our Rabbi showed us the cards a couple of years ago and it’s so nice to have them on my phone because I procrastinated ordering them 🤣. You have to allow the app to use your phones location services to sync with your daily calendar. Thank you!
Doesn’t Tell Me What I Want To Know
I downloaded this app specifically to get the days’ count easily. Unfortunately the Todays Reading feature doesn’t work (even after I updated the app today.) Ergo I still have to figure out the count AND I’m not reading the inspirational pages since the process is too convoluted. Great idea. Not ready for prime time. Refund?
Oops. Has the wrong dates for 2018 / 5778
Updated 4 April (20 Nisan) - The calendar function now has been fixed on the iPad version. Much better! Brief, thought-provoking thoughts for counting the Omer. So it’s now sundown, Saturday night, 31 March 2018 / 16 Nisan. When I go into the app and click on “Today’s Reading,”I receive the error message: “Unfortunately, the counting of the Omer has ended for this year. Feel free to browse through the cards, and check back after sundown on April 1, 2018.”
Not ready for 2018
Just purchased the app and it says that it isn’t updated for 2018.
App does not update calendar
Same as the previous review, the app doesn’t update the calendar and displays a message from last year
