No AppStore version updates
There's an update for the non-AppStore 4.x version, which although buggy in dark mode, at least might otherwise be more current. The fact that this app hasn't been updated in 5 years on the AppStore, even though there are updates available, is well... ...one star is too much!
Used to be great
This used to be great software and the cloud functionality made it easy to sync my recipes between my desktop, phone and tablet. The author has basically abandoned this software and the cloud functionality doesn't work anymore which means no sync. For some good news, Paprika allows you to import your MacGourmet database so you can move to a platform with working sync.
No longer usable
I can't even print out a recipe with the ingredients and directions on 1 page. This app must need some serious updating.
DO NOT BUY - PRODUCT NOT SUPPORTED
Mariner Software seems to have gone radio silent. There is no practical technical support, bugs are not fixed, and they do not respond in any meaningful way. Apple - I do not know why their apps merit being allowed in the app store alongside those of good sellers/developers.
Long Time User
When I first used MacGourmet it was great and updates were being made often. I've purchased the different versions over the years. It is still a great place to keep my many recipes. The import from the website has not worked in a while, but that was okay as I used sparingly. The big issue has been I can no longer sync between my devices (IOS) and was told, over a year ago, they were working on the problem. My fear is they are no longer supporting the software and one day I will lose everything last update 4 years ago). Unfortunately, there are no other applications that I have found that meet my needs.
Extremely disappointed in support
We had the original MacGourmet and finally upgraded after moving to new Mac. I could not import the old recipes into v4 while I had no problem using Paprika. It is not a good sign when the competition can easily import from a prior version when support tells you you need to re-enter the recipes.
Sync is still Broken
Do not buy this think it will sync to your mobile devices. It stopped working at least a year ago and they say they are working on a fix but apparently not. Last I heard is they submitted it 4 Aug 2021 but still nothing.
