Do you want your Mac keyboard to sound like a real typewriter? Or maybe you want to hear cool clicking sounds every time you press any key? If yes, then Loud Typer is for you because it adds sounds to your Mac keyboard. Every time you press any key, you hear a sound. By default, Loud Typer emits typewriter sounds. But it has a large selection of built-in sound sets, and in addition, you can create your own sound themes. You can also customize Loud Typer to sound differently in different applications. Loud Typer is loaded as an icon in the system menu bar. The main program window can be opened as follows: System menu bar -> "Loud Typer" icon -> "Settings" menu item. Note: If you experience audio delays while typing, you may be using some kind of external speakers (Bluetooth or USB speakers). In this case, consider using internal speakers or wired headphones instead of external speakers.
The coolest app everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
So happy I ran into this app. Brings back the old typewriter days!!! Totally love it. Super creative idea. Kudos to the developer!!!! Thank u. Thank u!!!!
Doesn't work as promised
I enjoyed using this app yesterday, immediately after I opened it, then today it stopped working except when using Shift and special keys. Nor can I remove the app from my computer. Going to application support requires registering on a site I don't know and thus don't trust, and the lack of clear instructions on closing and using increase my wariness. I'd love to use it, but . . . .
Updated review -- satisfying but slight delay
Originalyl I was having so much trouble getting one sound to work but I realized it was because I accidently added it as a sound theme. I can't figure out how to use that section, either. But other than that, the sounds are really satisfying and help me focus (I have ADHD). My only gripe is that there is a slight delay with many of the souds. It's also pretty pricey for what you get, but it's worth it for me and I'm glad it's a one time cost and not a subscription. I hope they don't change that and somehow improve the delay time.
Love it, Can you make one for my Mouse/Trackpad
This is perfect, the only problem is now when I use my mouse and its silent it feels very off balance. Cant Believe it is this hard to find an option but is there a way you can make one for my mouse/trackpad.
Great, but quiet
I was (and am) really excited to find this! It's really satisfying and I love that you can use it on more than one computer. I have it active on both of mine. The only thing is that I feel like the sounds have suddenly gotten a lot quieter. Sometimes I have to turn my volume all the way up to hear the typing noise (but I don't know if that makes any/much difference). There's no way to manually set this within the app (from what I can tell), and it doesn't get any louder when I turn the sound up. I wish there was a way to change this. I have the noise I like best set, but I might change it to see if anything is louder.
Love Loud Typer!
Loud Typer is perfect!! I've been using it for a long time, but feel it is time to tell others how great this app is because sometimes when something works so well, you just take it for granted. With Loud Typer, you can have the "regular" sounds of a typewriter, or pick from a slew of many different sounds to suit your taste or mood. The typewriter sounds give me a old fashioned comfort and instant audio feedback when I am doing work online. Loud Typer actually has me look forward to those hours of paperwork that need to be done for my self employed business, whereas before it was just another chore. For those of you who do personal writing, Loud Typer will allow the keys to flow with the soothing clackity clack sounds putting your brain in an relaxed state, allowing your writing to just flow! Can't say enough good things about this app! Thank you delevoper!!
This is the one. Keeps up with typing, great sounds.
You won't tire of these sounds. Very satisfying sounds. Return, Space, Delete and SHIFT(!!) all sound like how you would expect. It also the one that actually keeps up with typing, no matter how fast I mash the keys. One wish list is that even the beep sound sets would have differentiated sounds for the special keys, especially for the Return key, for that endorphin rush of having done something. If I could have another wish, it would be that Esc would be treated as a special key, for those moments you cancel out of dialog boxes, and even Tab for navigating through dialog boxes.
- New sound theme is added - Now taskbar icon indicates the application on/off state - Now the global application on/off switch is duplicated in the settings panel
