Daily Prayer PC(USA) provides brief services for Daily Prayer based on the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship (WJKP, 2018), including: psalms for the day, readings from the daily lectionary, and prayers of thanksgiving and intercession. Also included are the Revised Common Lectionary readings for Sundays and festivals, a two-year cycle of selections from the PC(USA) Book of Confessions, and an eight-week schedule for praying all 150 psalms. The app provides liturgies for Morning, Midday, Evening, and Night Prayer, selecting the appropriate service and lectionary readings based on the time and date settings of your iPhone or iPad. The calendar tool allows users to find psalms, readings, and prayers for other dates. Use the clock icon to select Morning, Midday, Evening, or Night Prayer, overriding current time of day. The “advanced features” menu allows users to toggle on/off various options in the liturgy for Daily Prayer and select between two versions of the Lord’s Prayer. A brief tutorial provides information about the practice of Daily Prayer and instruction on using the app.

Crash
I really want to keep this app but it crashes constantly

Please update
Hello PCUSA, Please update your app! An explanation why this app is helpful for Christians would also be nice so I can more easily encourage others to get the app.
Great content, problematic interface
I really appreciate the content and pattern of daily prayer. Am using it now with my congregation. The interface desperately needs some updates — particularly for newer iOS devices. It doesn’t use the full iPhone X screen for example, and that phone is from 2017. Same is true on the iPad Pro 11 from 2018. In Xcode, the developer should see this in the emulator after setting the device to either of these or more recent. Would be great to have full display used. With iOS 14, the date picker becomes invisible when in night mode, which is very challenging — the connection to night mode is far from obvious. I’ve also tried purchasing the Company of New Pastors feature for another year, but it always crashes the app. Been trying this for a couple years, I suspect. For groups using it, it would be nice also to have the book page numbers in the liturgy and the liturgy included somewhere online for the Book of Common Worship. Thanks for the app! The recently added share options are helpful. If you update to the new Book of Common Worship, I hope you’ll keep the 1993 version as an option. UPDATE: This app is even more desperate for an update now in 2022. Usually when I open the app, none of the readings are accessible as if all are deselected. Once I go into the Settings -> Advanced and toggle one of the entries to off and back to on, everything now shows up as expected. Though, sometimes it disappears a short time later while reading. The app presents a good scripture reading pattern and liturgy based on the 1993 Book of Common Worship; however, the interface is currently very frustrating. Please update; it’s age is showing and doesn’t present our denomination well.

Glitchy
This is one of the glitchiest apps I’ve encountered. If it doesn’t continually return to the opening scripture it randomly shuts down. It really needs an update.
