Have your computer speak the time at any quarter hour, in the voice of your choosing, or listen to Westminster bells on the quarter hour.
It does not work on Mojave
There is no message on the App Store that says that this App does not work on Mojave. How do I get my money back?
Not worth the money
The Westminster chimes are terrible--they sound like an audio recording of Big Ben. No other options in the program to select chimes that sound like real chimes. No way to import custom chime sounds. No way to set an absolute volume so chimes sound at the same volume no matter what the system volume sounds like. No way to hide program icon from menu bar. Preference dialog always opens at the same place on the desktop, doesn't remember last position on screen, and doesn't open on top of other windows. Program DOES NOT WORK if you switch to another user (i.e., I log in, start ChimeX, then my kids switch to their login and leave me logged in, program produces no sound). This was an unfortunate waste of $6.
no time speech
only uses same dumb "sure am glad…"….what i thought i was getting was a time announcement…. :(
Chimes are great, but seems to run about a minute behind
This is a great background app if you want to hear Westminister Chimes on the hour, half hour, or quarter hour. It also has other sounds and voices that I haven't used and probably won't. The standard Mac OS voices are included in the ChimeX preferences, but if they are what you want to use, I would save 10 bucks and not buy this app. The one annoying item about the app is it seems to be running about a minute behind the system clock. In other words if my system clock turns from 6:59 to 7:00 o'clock, I don't hear the chime start until about 7:01. I would think the chime would start once the clock was at the top of the hour. This is also true for the ¼, ½, and ¾ hours events.
