BrightCanary’s parental controls fill in the gaps by helping you understand what they’re seeing, sending, and receiving online and in text messages. WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT BRIGHTCANARY “The app monitors for adult images in messages and any concerning content in search, without me having to look through my son’s phone. Which has helped me find the right balance between trust and safety. Highly recommend it!” — Linda, mom of 2 "A 13 year old from a nearby middle school died in his bedroom after taking what he thought was a muscle relaxant. It turned out to be a counterfeit that was laced and he ordered it like a pizza through a social media app. Parents, we need to supervise. This app is the best one I’ve found to do that. And it monitors DMs." — Donna, mom of 2 "My daughter has always used my YouTube account, but I finally felt it was safe to give her her own account when I started using BrightCanary’s parental controls. It's a great way to give her the independence she wants, but with safeguards.” — Regina, mom of 1 “Balancing trust and safety is tough with a teenage son. Thanks to BrightCanary, I've found a middle ground — keeping tabs without being overly intrusive. Having this supervision has also helped me be better connected to his interests. Highly recommend it!” — Jean, mom of 2 SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS Payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Goes Against Good IT Security Practices
After download your immediately asked to sign in to your child’s iCloud account by supplying the username password and screen unlock pin. Then your child’s iCloud account is running on a Mac in Chicago. This goes against good IT security practices and allows a third-party to view all texts and pictures and everything associated with an iCloud account. I understand this is probably the only way to actually view all text messages on the iPhone, but this gave me a very uneasy feeling. I immediately uninstalled the app and changed my child’s password so I never actually reviewed the functionality.
Wish I didn’t ignore the 1 star ratings, don’t waste your time!
Has not worked at all. Reached out by text for support, over 3 hours later had to reach out again, was told the issue was addressed and resolved, it wasn’t. Reached out again, no response.
Doesn’t work
Hello I added my daughters apple iCloud and I have tested several messages from several phones and group messages and have only received from 1 contact. The messages I have received have been hours behind and the other messages have never came through.
DO NOT GET IT
This app was not helpful nor does it even work I downloaded it because of all the great reviews but I’m now sure that those are all bots or friends or family of the creator of this app do not waste your time or money of this app my phone and my sons phone are both laggy now because of this app and I have to get new ones
Worst app ever
This app has never provided good feedback on any of my kids. For 1 month (when I first got it) it updated frequently but for the last year it has not notified us or done anything in regards to monitoring my daughters phone. Last update on the app was July 23, 2023, been paying for it hoping it would work but still nothing! I’ll go back to using the bark app!
This is a MUST HAVE
If your child is on any social media or YouTube / Google, then you need this. I really like how it’s not actively trying to “block” your kids activities and access like a lot of other apps do. Instead, it lets your child be themselves, and simply keeps you in the know of things they may be exposed to that’s all. Sometimes it gets the wrong flags on certain contents, but it’s not really an issue. There’s also a slider thing you want tweak to set how stronger the filters or “flags” should be. I hope they continue to improve this and provide more granular controls on what you think is OK for your child, and what would be absolutely critical. Worthy every penny. Thank you!
