Lay down and take a VO2 Max reading. 3 mins. Simple. How is this done? Read this published scientific paper by UTH N., SORENSEN H., OVERGAARD K., PEDERSEN PK. (2004) Estimation of VO2max from the ratio between HRmax and HRrest--the Heart Rate Ratio Method. Eur J Appl Physiol. Jan;91(1):111-5. 1 year
I only review products I’ve used consistently for at least 1 year. I was frustrated when I first downloaded it because the age font is small enough that I couldn’t get it to adjust. I worked that out after a few tries. My first few readings were high, these were taken without exercising, but when I took it during or immediately after a workout I found that it gave me a relatively close, although a bit low, reading. It has to be tight on my wrist to work properly. I now take 4-5 readings throughout the day with at least two during my workouts, then I average the results. For a free app I thinks it’s a great tool when used properly. Don’t expect to get a highly accurate reading from it, the technology just isn’t there yet, however using this beats paying thousands of dollars a year and cumbersome equipment to get a daily vo2 max reading.
Yeah no…
My VO2 max was calculated to be 81!!!! NO WAY!!!! DELETE
Loved how this worked
Completely inaccurate. My VO2 should be terrible but my result was 80. Free app or not there is no excuse for not following the equations available.
Loved how this worked
It may not be 100% accurate compared to a physio test but it pretty close. Wish it automatically populated on apple health but hey its free. Lol People always seem to complain about everything. Reading the reviews made me laugh seeing it’s a free app and is actually good.
Will have to do more testing
For everyone that is complaining that it’s a waste of money, it’s a free app. I appreciate the fact that the developer created an app that doesn’t require in app purchases. I’ll have to see if this is really that accurate. I’m sure it’s not as accurate as sports physiology testing equipment. That’s OK, provided that it is consistent. If it shows improvement overtime, it’s probably a useful tool to determine whether or not your cardiovascular fitness is improving. I’m not so worried about the absolute number, but I do hope that it is consistent and can be used to track progress overtime.
Don’t waste your time
The app just doesn’t work. I get no results when using.
Waste
Doesn’t work
- Make the app more idiot-proof. - Fix a bug where heart rate is sometimes displayed instead of VO2Max result.
