Not Helpful!
My doc recommended this app - I have no idea what she was thinking!! I don’t want to read cheap erotica & had no problem understanding why and or talking about my low libido with her. I really feel ripped off and now question my doctor’s recommendations!! Don’t waste your money
Has potential
I explored the educational articles and there’s a wide range of topics that cover different aspects of life. Options for navigating sex in connection to religious beliefs, transgender needs, age base, and different conditions. Admittedly, I’m not religious trans or impacted by things like PCOS. So I can’t speak to the quality of the content surrounding those intersections. But I appreciate the attempt to be inclusive and I’ll leave individuals in those space to judge the quality. Speaking for myself, the article topics I found relatable to me were interesting and informative. I watched a few videos after subscribing and so far so good there. I would rate higher if it weren’t for… The formatting on the erotica is poor, I can’t even see the entire text as a quarter of it is cut off. And I’m disappointed in how expensive the upper level subscriptions are. There are many potentially useful features available in these higher plans, but pricing makes them inaccessible to lower income people. I expect better from advocates for sexual health and expression professionals. I understand that the content creators need compensation too, but I hope there are options for making these available during promotional periods. Last reason for lower rating is for the lack of a trial period. I selected the $10/month subscription so o could see more of the content at a lower risk. I’d never do the more costly ones b/c I don’t want to waste $75-150/month just to see what’s being offered. For that reason I likely won’t ever explore beyond the base tier.
Supports harmful purity culture
The main education info is medically accurate, although pretty basic. The erotica stories are too short and bad writing. Read Sarah Maas instead. I liked that the main info topics talk about self-touching as a healthy self-awareness practice. But, the app asks your religion. You find out why later when they ignore religious shaming / purity culture as one of the key causes of trauma, pain and inability to communicate needs. They ignore that women raised in conservative religions have a much higher incidence of sexual pain and dysfunction. Not only that, the app invites reps from each of the main patriarchal religions to teach “classes”. In a summary for the Christian class, the teacher says that women need to remember how much men “need” sex and that they think about it almost as much as women think about food. Eewww, are you kidding me?! Promoting biological myth and duty sex, proven to increase pelvic pain and reduce marital satisfaction? Speaking about sex as something women give and men biologically need is misogyny and phallus worship, not science or health. Sex should be mutual and women deserve pleasure. You can’t have it both ways, Rosy, trying to help women solve pelvic pain while supporting harmful purity culture religious rhetoric. As a birth doula and mom, I do not support this app and would not recommend it until this problem gets addressed.
Feeling used
Saw the doctor on DBL yesterday and immediately downloaded. No where on the download does it say there is a cost to get information. My bad that I didn’t read the reviews 1st. Even if I did there is nothing about how EXPENSIVE it is. Doesn’t say if I sign up for the “cheapest” one if I can quit if I don’t like it or if I’m stuck for a certain amount of time. I put in all that personal information and THEN I find out it will cost me at least $9.99 to even see ANYTHING. That should be up front.
Crashes
App crashes I every time I try to create an account. I had high hopes for this due to high functioning adhd and not having the time to do such things. But I can’t even get to set up an account.
Couldn’t even get past the first page
I have no idea why. I tried like 8 times just to make an account and everytime it kicked me out of the sign up page before I could even hit create account. Then when I finally completed all the simple steps and hit create account, it kicked me out again! I’m not dumb. I closed and reopened the app, redownloaded it, it’s simple fill in your info. I don’t see why it’s so impossible. I really was hoping it could help me too. I’ve been really frustrated with my lack of sex drive lately and this seemed like it could point me in a good direction.
App keeps freezing on sign up
I just installed this app on my iPhone X but it keeps freezing with a blank screen on the sign up page.
