Rhythm is the successor to the meditation timer and scheduler I couldn't find. I wanted something flexible but simple and which would importantly both time meditation and schedule it (with a daily reminder). It is simple: quickly select a duration (perhaps with some bells to recall your attention) and hit start. Set a daily reminder and target minutes to help establish a regular meditation practice. As a motivational boost you can see completed meditation sessions in your History and how they compare to your target. Your history is saved via iCloud so you can use on multiple devices. There are a few additional resources and tools, such as a breathing timer and short introduction to meditation. And now it includes a fully customisable breathing timer: set a in, hold, out and pause time and follow the animated guide.
Simple, clean, functional.
I've been looking for a simple meditation timer that has a few key features. I used to use Center which was 90% of the way there, but this is a better choice for me. I want to be able set a timer, have intervals if desired, and ideally have it keep track of my sits in a history. This does that and is also linked across devices so if I use the app on my laptop or on my phone it all syncs together. The one thing that I wish it could do is provide the timer sounds when my phone is locked. It seems that I have to keep my screen on for it to work. I'd like to lock my screen simply so I don't have the temptation to look at it, and I also keep track of my screen time and would love to not have that go up while meditating. All in all, 4.9 stars for hitting the main points and being free. If it were able to keep my notification sounds going when the screen locked it would be a full 5.
