Underrated health app
This is a very underrated and feature packed health app - after using it for a few weeks at time of writing and getting to learn all of the features, I’m surprised that I didn’t hear about it sooner! Basically this app gives you several categories of your health to focus on - sleep, body fat, mental well-being, etc. As you use the app more and it gets a better picture of your health, it’ll give you a grading based on how well you’re doing (proud to say almost all of my categories are at least an A!). Now, I could probably extrapolate all this data myself from the Health app but Gyroscope actually gives meaning to that data and gives you actionable insights to improve it and an easy way to visualize your progress. Just to end off, I’d like to say the support team is super helpful and responsive! They helped me get a more affordable plan since I’m a college student, which is super cool of them!

And the interface is now confusing. It has Lots of Coaching if you need that. With Pro and the coach app added and an early user discount - it will now cost $99 a month. The pro alone costs about half that, which is still far too expensive. The AI though is entirely optional which gets the price down to $10-$29 per month. And you can apply for financial help in certain conditions. The data overall is excellent. The interface has become more complex however. Sleep, travel, location, Nutrition and a variety of other data are displayed and graphed. I still use apple health for certain things. But there are many good choices here.

Started using Gyroscope a few years ago but stopped because I never took the time to fully set it up. Years later, as my life got busier and health/wellness became even more important to my overall well-being, I started using it again. I had spent week after week for close to 6 months trying to find a simple yet powerful app that would comprehensively and continuously monitor my overall health. I've been delighted and impressed by the Health Score which very easily and brilliantly gives me a daily score for how healthy I currently am based on the factors that matter. I'm able to add my mental health/mood, any meditations, meals, along with my automatically reported sleep, activity and heart metrics from my Apple Watch. Nothing else comes close to Gyroscope. I also love that I can access the platform across all types of devices (desktop computer, iPhone, Watch, etc). Recently I've begun to utilize the coaching and various resources. A.I. has super-powered these to make them customized to my needs, even as they change. And again, I get to see how well I'm performing by simply looking at the Health Score. All in all, Gyroscope has a champion in me and I'm proud to be a member/user.

This app is absolutely incredible- especially the latest version. It is like having a whole team of personalized coaches, and is transforming my fitness, nutrition and mental health. I love being able to ask the AI coaches questions and getting useful feedback and suggestions based on how I am feeling. This is far and away the best fitness/mental health/food tracker out there and even takes into account my genetics and biomarkers. For those who love data-based decisionmaking, this tool is invaluable and extremely reasonably priced for what it offers. Support is also fast and responsive. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I’ve been using gyroscope for years (5 or more) back when it was just a couple guys making the ultimate quantified-self aggregator. Back when you could still put decent ROMs on flagship android phones, before being forced to move to apple for any semblance of a consistent experiment. It offered some basic correlatIve reports at the end of the year and gave you pretty graphs. It would tap into your social media timelines looking for pictures during the day, making a pretty good log of your life. Foursquare (or whatever it’s called now) should still exist for those waiting more details than Places can give. Places is pretty good, it could be better. With the level of access the app has to your phone, it could do a lot more than just tell you that you were there. _I_ do not want to interact with gyroscope in any way other than viewing statistics. I have other, better suited apps for tracking food and mood, for example. The gimmicky LLMs and ML algorithms marketed as “AI” and them really just pushing it is getting super annoying. The only generative thing i want in my life is me. I wish they would go back to interoperability, data mapping and visualization.
