Food Noms is the goat
Desktop version is a win!
I mainly use my desktop computer. Having a desktop version of the app helps me stay consistent tracking meals. The syncing is seamless to iOS too!
Great and easy, but...
if only you could import a recipe using the web address and have it calculate the nutrients and calories.
A Great Way to Track What You Eat
I really love this app. I am trying to control sugar in my diet, and this app is a great help in understanding my food intake, and how it affects my glucose count. The apps database of foods is good, and growing daily as more people add what they're eating. One improvement would be for the app to be able to import a recipe, much the way Paprika does. It would greatly simplify entering custom recipes. Foodnoms is definitely an app I use multiple times a day, and itss now a part of how I control my diet. Kudos to the developers!
Best meal tracker I’ve tried
Slick and intuitive UI, generous free tier & high value paid tier ($3.33 per month). This app works exactly how you would want, but more importantly, it works exactly how you would THINK a meal tracker would work, which makes it very easy to use on day 1. My only criticism would be that finding the food you’re looking for can be difficult sometimes (some of the food item descriptions aren’t great), but if you’re using the barcode scanning feature that doesn’t matter. 5/5
Recommend
Great user interface and has a better privacy policy than competitors. The drawbacks are the limited database for branded food and chain restaurant food, for example, I got a Chipotle bowl I had to look up the nutrition facts on their website and manually enter each item’s macros (rice,beans,meat,etc.). Also you can’t use the barcode scanning feature unless you have the paid subscription, I think I used it 5 or so times in the past year and now I have hit my limit and it won’t allow me to use the feature anymore. I’d suggest expanding the branded & chain food library, that’s definitely something that’s the most frustrating aspect of the app. Other than that, I really, really like the interface design, it’s very simple to use and aesthetically appealing. I also appreciate that they don’t collect as much data as competitors. My main critiques are 1. Bigger branded and chain food library 2. Collect less data All in all, I recommend the app, these are just some things that would make it better.

Bug Fixes - Fixes that aim to improve accessibility - Fix issue preventing some types of data saved by other apps (e.g. HiCoffee) from being imported via Apple Health - Fix issue where editing a food in a logged meal, then changing the time or meal type, then selecting "Update All Entries", causes the other changes to that food to not be saved - Minor bug fixes
