Field Guide to Life
The Field Guide to Life shows a daily thought and comment similar to 24 Hours A Day or any of the Hazelden meditation books, challenge videos & tasks, a daily sobriety counter, notes journal 📝, meeting locator, emotional regulation and craving trackers. My one time $15 app purchase became a $70 💰 value - just in meditation books, time spent choosing, and convenient accessibility. 💰 Self directed recovery activities defer countless hours of group therapy. With minimal guidance, ‘the field guide’ promotes individual accomplishment. No need to sit in waiting rooms or long meetings ever again. The challenges for recovery ❤️🩹 draw us inward, reflecting on past experiences for comparison with the speaker or challenge. 🎞 🆘 contacts were very proud I asked them to be on my special support team. The emotional tracker ‘power ups vs. obstacles’ incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy style tracking of emotions. Users select feelings from two lists, usually from both, pinpointing when anxiety or joy present and for what reasons. Identifying triggers for painful emotions could prevent depressive or anxious episodes. Managing emotions helps recovery. ❤️🩹 No chat feature, so no busy bodies butting in where they don’t belong. No more control freaks telling you how you feel. You select your 🆘 team not the old timer in the corner decided you ‘needed to be taught a lesson’ Completely self guided
Maybe good for beginners
For the price I expected more. Got suckered in by a daily reading from another app directing me to this one. Daily readings very basic and weak. Most of the functions in the app outside of the daily reading are already included on most phones or a place to hold your phones pictures for “inspiration” to stay sober. Disappointed. Love Touchstones but this’ll be my last Hazelden purchase. As always with apps, there’s no way to get a refund.
Grateful
I’m thankful, so grateful for this app and the new beginning for my life. It is blessing to have come across field guide as I seek guidance for this way of life. Thank you!
Please add SA, SLA or SAA
Nice app. Great for tracking progress and triggers. I wish it had SA, SLA or SAA info. I love Hazeden’s literature; which includes sex addition.
Wonderful reminder in the evening
I'm grateful for this app and its ability remind me at 4:55 to plan for my evening. It helps to keep me focused and counting my blessings. If I don't want to be "outted" I turn off the notifications. I also really like the ability to forward text of the main body or email the whole page. If I want to send the whole page as a text I can always select all and copy. I appreciate the day tracker and the relapse planner. I need to complete that but I'm glad it's there. And the SOS button, while I've not yet had to use it, feels like it could be a life saver.
Just Awful
This was really a waste of money, so little to it. I can't understand how something like this could be released for any reason other than to exploit those suffering souls that are desperate for sobriety. Content is very much geared to newcomers - trust me don't waste your money on this. All I got from my purchase was a resentment for being ripped off.
• Fixed a few bugs including one that was preventing users from saving their sober date in the sober counter and changing the time for the daily notifications.
