Do Nothing is a simple, unguided meditation app. It’s based on the thousand year old zen practice of shikantaza, which means “just sitting”. Most forms of meditation require you to focus on something specific, like your breath. Doing nothing means simply sitting in a state of conscious awareness. The only goal is to allow your thoughts to come and go without encouraging or avoiding them. By observing your thoughts without reacting to them, you allow your mind to self-organize. With consistent practice over time, the result is a clear mind. -- Terms of Service: https://www.bowery-digital.com/do-nothing-terms Privacy Policy: https://www.bowery-digital.com/do-nothing-privacy

I feel like the social media buttons kind of defeats the purpose of a zen practice. I’d like an option to switch them off as i find the apps addicting and distracting
Do Nothing
Great app
Great but can add on feature
Really simplistic and does all one needs. One suggestion I would recommend would be to keep the timer going after the screen is locked it tends to restart when it’s locked. This would help it become less distractive and actually “do nothing” without even looking at the timer. Again thank you great App

I heard about this form of meditation from Naval on the Tim Ferriss podcast. I’d been doing guided meditation on and off for the last few years with Calm, Headspace, etc. but eventually ended up just setting a timer and sitting there for 10-15 minutes. Once you figure out the basics of meditation I think unguided is the way to go. I really like the simplicity of the app. Straight and to the point but also includes analytics to keep you on track. Good stuff.
