Body Fat calculator uses Height and Circumference method used by The United States Navy to measure the percentage of body fat. This is the simplest and fastest technique for estimating your percentage of body fat . The U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army also use this method. During a U.S. Navy study, it was shown to be as accurate as caliper skinfold testing, however with a lower standard error of estimation. All that is required is measuring tape. After taking exact measurements, the following formulas are used to calculate the body fat percentage. TAGS: BMI (Body Mass Index), BMR (Basal Metabolism Rate) and Daily Caloric Needs Calculation, US Navy Advantages and limitations of BMI: The main advantages of BMI as a body fat indicator are: BMI is very easy to measure. Only two parameters, height and weight are required which can be easily measured by common people. As it is accepted as a general standard for measuring body fat, a person can compare his health with others. The limitations of BMI are: BMI can't discriminate between body fat and muscle. So a body builder may find himself as obese in BMI scale. Age and sex are not considered in BMI measurement. So analysis of BMI varies with those parameters. Though no online method can give you accurate measurement of your body fat, the waist circumference method developed by US Navy gives you much better prediction. Zero stars
Couldn't even get through 4 measurments without it crashing.
Waste of Time
Besides the fact that this app crashes every 10 seconds and is so littered with adverts that it's virtually unusable, it's also completely incorrect. Fail.
Terrible
I've calculated my BFP frequently enough to know that this is way off. Also, it tells you to use millimeters for metric (which is bizarre) and really means centimeters.
Unattractive and confusing
Why couldn't they put all their links in another menu like other apps do? The bar across the top doesn't match the app and at first I thought it was just a banner ad but it's part of the app. Then I thought it might be useful or interesting information related to the app but no. Just more links. The ui is also obviously designed like a webpage from the 90s. Or a crappy attempt at a mobile site. I think they might've just taken a page from their mobile site and made it an app. The glaring white background and minimal effort with the few graphics screams either untalented or very lazy coding. Overall, I would probably give 4 stars if all the links other than the contact link were put on their own page(s) at least. 5 stars if it did that and calculated lean body mass.
Garbage
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS APP IT IS A COMPLETE WASIT!!!
Garbage
Just a bunch of links
Really a Shakeology App
This app is complete trash. The body fat calculations are all off and there are links to shakeology everywhere. I find it hard to believe that this was developed with the navy in mind.
