Description
Be one in a million
We want to speed up health research and breakthroughs by building a community of a million or more people across the U.S. Join All of Us.

The goal is to advance personalized medicine, which is health care based on you as an individual. It takes into account factors like where you live, what you do, and your family health history. Personalized medicine aims to tell people the best ways to stay healthy. If someone does get sick, personalized medicine may help health care teams find the treatment that will work best for them.

We want to find better treatments, targeted to individuals, to help accelerate the path to cures. To get there, we need one million or more people to create the largest and most diverse research database. Those who join will share information about their health over time. Researchers will study this data. We hope to learn about diabetes, heart disease, cancer, asthma and thousands of diseases and genetic conditions that affect many of us. What we learn could improve health for generations to come.

Participants are our partners. If you join, we’ll share information back with you over time. You could also learn more about your own health.

HOW THIS WORKS

1. Download our mobile app and create your account.

2. If you decide to join, we will ask you to share different kinds of information. We will ask you basic information like your name and where you live, questions about your health, family, home, and work. If you have an electronic health record, we may ask for access. We might also ask you to give samples, like saliva, blood or urine. We may also ask for access to your Apple Health and Apple Health records data.

3. The health data we gather from participants will be stored in a database. Approved researchers can access this data to explore how factors like environment, lifestyle, and genes, can impact health. This may help develop new medical treatments that are unique to individuals, and enable a future of precision medicine for all of us.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Enrollment is open to all eligible adults who live in the United States. People of every race, ethnicity, sex, gender, and sexual orientation are welcome.

WHO’S INVOLVED

The program is led by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the largest biomedical research organization in the world. We’ve also partnered with some of the top medical centers, research institutions and community organizations, including the Mayo Clinic, Vanderbilt University, Walgreens and WebMD. Plus, more than 250,000+ people like you!

All of Us Study n Ed’s black e app

Had great difficulty using this app for signing in and filling out surveys to participate in the All of Us research study. Was unable to sign in and complete multiple times. Upon going for my appointment to provide blood and iron sample for the study, found that I needed to use the blue All of Us app for my info. Ended up redoing all of my questionnaires the night before. At my appointment had to cancel my info on the white All of Us app.

Nonstop Login Issues

The All of Us Research Program has so much potential to be an incredible resource for so many people yet it’s plagued by technical difficulties. I know my password, I saved it in multiple places- yet cannot log in. I get auto generated texts and emails promoting new things however can NEVER gain access. Selecting ‘Forgot Password’ resulted in a long wait for the emailed verification code to appear (it never did), then to bypass that I selected it to be sent to my phone (it never came, either). What a waste of time and energy- to be sent on wild goose chases for for immensely valuable and important information that I desire. Another issue is not being findable to researchers. Earlier this year I was contacted by the local medical college and opted into the study, but for weird reasons they cannot access any of my information no matter what consent I provide. Being “signed up” through a university, the online platform, or the medical college shouldn’t be a barrier to participants and researchers. Customer service could be improved, greatly. In the past I was able to get a person to help me get an access code to login- but the system itself eventually locked me out at the next attempt. A different representative that (finally) emailed in response to my ‘contact us’ inquiry was short with me and didn’t seem patient enough to understand what I had described. No resolution. The phone representative was apologetic but unhelpful. No resolution. I’m considering unsubscribing from texts and emails because there’s no point in receiving communication that eventually directs me to login to my account. I really hope this gets figured out. I haven’t gained access to my profile in since 2022 because of this problem and from the looks of it- I won’t for the foreseeable future.

Leave it to the government

To confuse everyone and waste money? 2 apps? Associated with the NIH which helps fund some Chinese research in the news last few years? I’m not giving my data to the NIH or government at this point. No thanks.

Doesn’t work

The other app for All of Us works, but doesn’t look as nice as this one. This one won’t even recognize me as a valid user. An error occurs. I am unable to sign into it.

Notification issue

I downloaded the app, answered all my questions, linked my devices and accounts, and my saliva test is on its way. BUT, no matter what I do I end up with a red notification alert. Ok, maybe I’m a little OCD, I either turn off notifications for apps I don’t care about or clear them in apps that I do care about. I think I care about notifications in this app but being unable to clear this big red 1 is driving me nuts. I called in to clear up some other issues (btw the support is great—chat and calling options that don’t leave you waiting endlessly) but they couldn’t help me with this. I can’t imagine it’s anything other than some sort of glitch I’ve answered EVERYTHING! Please fix it.
