Turn photos from your iPhone or iPad into high‑quality 3D models that are optimized for AR using the new Object Capture API on macOS Monterey. Object Capture uses photogrammetry to turn a series of pictures taken on your iPhone or iPad into USDZ files that can be viewed in AR Quick Look, seamlessly integrated into your Xcode project, or used in professional 3D content workflows. Scan with Qlone on your iPhone and Process on your Mac! Our familiarly beautiful AR dome will guide you through the scanning process. Alternatively, you can also process a set of your own images in a ZIP file.
Long way to go!!!
If you're looking for an app that showcases Apple Object Capture do yourself favor and skip this app. It may be better in the future, but as of today is just not there.
Love the idea but not sure what's up
I tried this for the first time... there's a spinning placeholder image which seems to suggest it's working, but Activity Monitor shows Qlone using zero percent CPU. It's been going about 20 minutes. I have also checked Console and don't see any error logs. So I have no idea what is happening. Is it processing? Is it processing in the cloud even though I said to use my mac? Is there a way to send the data to the cloud, or do I have to go back and start over with taking the pictures again? So many questions! I love this and want it to work... will update my rating if I figure out what's going on...
Improve UI, show progress of processing, please
I bought the full premium version of the iPhone app because I don't like cloud services and then the desktop app because apparently that is necessary for processing locally instead of in the cloud. That wasn't clear at time of purchase of the iPhone app. Regardless, I'm very happy that it is an option. So, for another $9, you can process locally. Sort of. The UI on the desktop app is seemingly non-existent, until it finishes processing scans you captured by phone. With preview enabled, it took several minutes and there is nothing, no window, no progress bar, nothing on screen or desktop other than an icon to indicate that it is actually working. It would be great if the UI let you know it was processing, downloading, whatever it is doing, while it's doing it. Even better, render as it goes. Anything is better than nothing.
