Works as advertised
For the cost, it’s hard to go wrong with this app. It does what it says, (I used to use TinyPNG) and it does it well. The compression is not to the same level as some higher cost products, but most of the time, I don’t need maximum compression, I just need to take a PNG that Preview resampled to 6MB and bring it down to 1.5MB, which this app does well.

This app is well worth the money if you need to shrink PNG images. It does the same thing as the website tinypng, but without having to pay fees if you convert more than 500 images, and without the hassle of uploading and downloading images. The compression algorithm appears to be slightly inferior to tinypng. In my testing (of 100 small images, ~38 KB each) PNGShrink achieved an average compression of 58%, and tinypng achieved compression of 67%. Still, 58% is great for my purposes, and the ease-of-use is much better than tinypng. The UI is exactly what you would expect, and it works reliably.
