The low reviews are all because they didn’t realize the different chapters cost $0.50 each - not because it’s a bad game. I love this developer’s other title Merge Survival: Wasteland. The characters are amazing and the setting and story are great. This title expands on their story and background in between Mahjong tile puzzles. The first chapter (levels 1-50) is free, with each additional chapter of 50 levels costing fifty cents. Half a buck. A Starbucks is 14x that price, and these chapters can take several hours to play thru. This is so you don’t have to watch ads for energy or popups for bonuses. You just play. As little or as long as you want. If you don’t think a level is worth a penny each, you can also replay any or all levels to master it by earning more combos. Bargain. The first chapter is fairly easy as they acclimate you to the games mechanics and introduce what the game has to offer. At the end of the first chapter they introduce their first speed bump mechanic which you’ll quickly learn how to handle. I’m looking forward to more such tricks to master. The stories so far are meh to be honest. The gameplay itself is fine.. the draw to me here is that I get to spend more time with my buddies Eden, Seed, Sofia and Joy, Smart and Hammer. And based on their Merge Survival, I know that the devs will continue to add to and perfect this game as time goes by and they get more feedback from players. i love this game but i’m not gonna spend money to unlock new chapters. i had faith in this narrative and the developers with the first merge game and this shakes that trust. the games are redundant if they lack self awareness. expanding on the characters and their stories isn’t selling out, but asking people to mindlessly pay for the privilege to progress at all is. please, please be better.

You can only play through one ‘story’ for free, after that you have to spend real money (not in game coins) to continue playing. You don’t learn anything new about Eden and Seed, it’s just some lame side story. The story refers to Eden as ‘he’ more often than not, so I assume that it is all being translated by machine, rather than a person. I didn’t have high hopes for the type of game it is, match 3, fake mahjong, solitaire. Don’t waste your time.
