In the old days man tried to catch a glimpse of the future in the strangest of ways. Experience the ancient Swedish phenomena of year walking through a different kind of first person adventure that blurs the line between two and three dimensions, as well as reality and the supernatural. Venture out into the dark woods where strange creatures roam, on a vision quest set in 19th century Sweden. Solve and decipher cryptic puzzles, listen for clues, and learn about mysterious folklore creatures in the built-in encyclopedia as you seek to foresee your future and find out if your loved one will ever love you back. Mysteries and clues await everywhere in Year Walk, but to fully understand the events that took place on that cold New Year's Eve, you will have to delve deeper than the adventure and lose yourself between fact and fiction. This edition of Year Walk features several new additions: • New locations within the game • Map • Updated art • New puzzles • Integrated Encyclopedia about the mysterious myths and creatures encountered in the game • Hint system ... and more!
Great game
Worth every penny. Acually worth more then they are charging. Not your everyday adventure game, which is nice. DOn't get frustrated, use the hints or look at a walkthrough to keep playing. It will be worth it. Sploiler alert: don't be discouraged at end, keep playing a second time!!!
Short, quirky and only mildly entertaining
I'm supprised by the number of people raving about this game. I found it quirky and only mildly entertaining, given a turmoil of folklore, the absence of any defined characters/protagonists, and lack of an intersting story. The puzzles aren't that interesting and easy to solve. I finished Yearwalk in about 2 hours. That said, there are some visually interesting elements in the game and clever use of sound effects, but insufficient to elevate the whole experience.
Year Walk
The first time I started this game it worked fine. I read the opening story and looked at the map and encyclopedia. All seemed good. The next time I started the game all I got was a black screen. I could hear audio and I think I could move around but all I could see was black. I went to the support site but there was no way to communicate with the designers. I am on an iMac with High Sierra. You should remove games from the APP store if they do not work with current operating systems or at least warn people so they do not waste money on something that does not work. This would have gotten 0 stars from me if possible.

The first time I started up this game it worked fine. I scrolled thru the opening story, looked at the map, and encyclopedia. All seemed good. The next time I opened the game all I got was a black screen. I could hear audio and I think I was moving but all I saw was black. I’m on an iMac with High Sierra. I went to the support links but there is no way to communicate with the developers. I cannot believe this is still in the APP store if it doesn’t work with current OS's
Crashes on start up - no solution online for Mac
This game looks beautiful. I can’t play it because it crashes on startup. There is no troubleshooting available online that I can find. Are others having this problem? Have you found a solution?
I had chills!
I stumbled upon this game after playing Device 6 (also amazing!!!) and I love this game so much. The story line is well explained, the graphics and music are haunting, and the puzzles are challenging. Although, what really made me love this game is how every part of the puzzle came together in the last clip, and reinforced yet again with the bonus jounal content. Absolutley LOVE this game, I really hope to see another game like this soon (I need more puzzles haha)!!
Creepy and Fun
The game is beautifully written with breathtaking art and an intriguing storyline. It immerses you and gives you a glimpse of Swedish folklore that is haunting and somewhat creepy. The puzzles are all different and difficult. It is a short game, but well worth the price.
