Not realistic and unbalanced
I have been playing real golf for over 50 years. Recently I have been sidelined by a rotator cuff injury. So, I was looking for something to appease the golf craving. Here are my issues. It is understood that when learning any new game there is a learning curve that can be part of the fun factor, figuring out how to play. Unfortunately this cannot happen in a positive way if the new player (myself) keeps getting paired with far more experienced players. I, a “hack” kept getting matched with “tour pro” and “tour legend” players. Guess what, you loose. I do not mind loosing except the only way to get better clubs and enter better games is to win points. So after a week of spiraling down I gave up. There are also certain inconsistencies with reality. If you hit into the “rough” in real golf you might go up a club or two, switch from a 7 iron to a 6 or 5 depending on the depth/type of grass. In this game it doesn’t seem to matter, if you hit from the rough your ball may, at best go 50-60 yards. If your opponent is in the fairway, you loose, no recovery. I noticed after a few games that I would win a hole if my opponent hit into the rough and I hit into the fairway as my opponent would immediately forfeit. No point in continuing. Bottom line, the point of this game should be entertainment and some degree of fun at every level. Lacking this it serves only as another frustration. Fix these things and I may reconsider, however, by September I will be back on the real course and will not care!

The looks, and reality are there, but the gameplay isn’t. I had timed my putt perfectly from about a foot away and missed, this happened 7-8 times. And the ball rolls way to much on the hills. Needs fixed

Love to play as it is usually realistic, however, matches in Showdown are CLEARLY rigged. My opponent and I can hit the exact same shot and my ball ends up in the rough while his is middle of fairway. Opponent can sink a 30 foot impossible putt while my short putt (even with a ding) will start off course. Vice versa sometimes also as I am occasionally rewarded while opponent is hosed. Would be a 5 star game if you would just let us play and stop predetermining winners and losers 😡
