Almost perfect
Would have been a 5 star if red still had it’s bullet shield at max rank. Seriously that’s the big reason why you would use red so enemies ramming into you don’t kill you. Blue is wide sweeping, green is super accurate, and red is a balance of the two.

I thought I wrote a review for this game earlier but I don’t see it so gotta write another! Simply one of the best late-80’s scrolling shooters ever, and Mobrix has done an excellent job bringing back the awesome fun, beautiful backdrop and excellent soundtrack. The replay value is out of this world, and even though I think I’m pretty good at scrolling shooters, after 2+ years I still haven’t beaten the game on easy setting without extending in full power multiple times right at the end. It is 2023 and I look forward to finding the time that I can just dedicate an hour to playing three attempts to beat the game; it is that hard and that much fun. Well done, Mobrix, your game is on all of my Apple devices!

I have been looking for this game for years as an ROM for MAME, but when I found this, I was equally happy! These games look so great, even down to the font for “high score”. The best thing about Truxton is the Thunder laser, and few scrolling shooters are as satisfying as destroying everything totally powered up with 5 beams coming out of your ship! Also, you might be thinking that the game is easy, until you come to a part that takes 45,000 tries to get by - thank you!
