The End of the World is a side-scrolling exploration game for the broken hearted. Set in Newcastle, England, you play a lonely man in a world that ended when he lost his love. By living day by day and in the past you unravel the circumstances that led to the end of the world, and maybe a way to move on. Essentially this is a break up game. Completion time: 15-20 mins.
This game helps wrap my head around what I’ve become
Not to make this review or whatever too long, but some years ago, Myself and The only person i have ever loved and continue to revolve my life around, had parted ways due to our mental states and emotional weaknesses. After that had occurred, I had done things to myself and attempted certain actions to myself that continue to make me spiral down downward. Around this time is when I started to realize i had ocd on top of the other mental illnesses I have, and found that my trait in ocd revolves around surroundings, lighting, and perceptions through my placements (if something to my definition, aesthetically appealing), and A couple of years ago I downloaded this game on my Android that was falling apart and never got to whole heartedly experience the game properly but instantly fell in love with everything about it. The way the lighting goes to a cold blue after you’re finished reminiscing the warmer colors and lighting with what felt like perfect sentimental memories attached to those details, it just all gave me a very very raw empathetic feeling that I wasn’t able to feel in a very very long time. It’s interesting how it happens to people. For some it happens at the sight of a sunset or the consolation from a friend, but my first sense of this feeling since my life was headed downhill was this comforting game. I’d love to express my thanks to those who made this game what it is, especially to Sean wenham, the one who was able to visualize and display these extremely heavy feelings. Thank you.
Not a game...
This isn’t a game. There’s nothing to figure out, solve, or problem to tackle. It’s basically a series of confusing and vague vignettes following a character who you’re not sure if he’s going to get to some other state of being, have a revelation of some sorts, or just continue on as is. Buy it if you want to see someone’s artwork, but there’s no gameplay here.
beautiful
this game is absolutely beautiful if you play it right.
A Good Story Telling Game
This game is for people who can really understand the meaning of it, through it’s art work, gameplay and story. Whenever I first played this game I was shocked on how amazing it was and how much I could feel and relate to the character feelings. This is a beautiful game that is created perfectly. There is three endings in this game, the first one is you choosing to chase your past until you fade away in existence which is an metaphorical way of saying if you try to make things the way it was before and it doesn’t work out at all then if you keep trying you will waste your life away. The second one is walking away from your past until you see a chair next to a table and then you sit down facing reality and then it ends. this ending means that sometimes you have to let go and let things be the way it is because no matter how hard you try to make things the same as before, there’s a possibility that it won’t turn out to be the same. The third one is drinking too much until you wake up on a boat not knowing what direction you are heading to and it minimizes the screen and then it ends. This one means that drinking a lot can make you feel lost and confused not knowing what you are doing or where your destination is. The second ending is my favorite
Don’t waste your money
Too short- not enough content.
Not worth a dollar.
Dont buy it. I finished the whole game within 5 mins. I didnt get any joy from this game. this game was way toooooo short.
Others must have got a different game
I don’t understand these other reviews. It makes me wonder if we played the same game. I was thinking this was going to be like This War of Mine, but it isn’t. There’s no story here. Well, there is, but it isn’t a clear one: Dude has girlfriend. Girlfriend leaves. The end. No story given about even WHY she leaves. They go from happy to on fire out the elevator directly. I really wanted more from this app.
