Disappointing but somewhat ok

Biggest problem is the algorithm used in dice role prevents player from rolling anything higher than 3 most of the time. We did a testing by several individual players and all 9 had extremely similar results out of 21 roles; player 1 rolled “1” 8x, “2” 5x, “3” 4x, “4” 2x, “5” 1x, “6” 1x; player 2 rolled “1” 6x, “2” 4x, “3” 4x, “4” 4x, “5” 2x, “6” 1x; player 3 rolled “1” 7x, “2” 5x, “3” 2x, “4” 3x, “5” 2x, “6” 2x; player 4 rolled “1” 9x, “2” 2x, “3” 4x, “4” 2x, “5” 1x, “6” 3x; player 5 rolled “1” 6x, “2” 4x, “3” 5x, “4” 3x, “5” 2x, “6” 1x; player 6 rolled “1” 5x, “2” 5x, “3” 4x, “4” 3x, “5” 2x, “6” 2x; player 7 rolled “1” 6x, “2” 4x, “3” 5x, “4” 3x, “5” 2x, “9” 1x; so I could post the last 2 but I think you see my point. While the graphic design and storytelling is fun, the play as you get deeper is designed to make it nearly impossible to fully complete. The game just becomes more of an aggravation than enjoyment. All in all, if you can’t play the board game and need 10 minute time waster, this game could work. But don’t think your going to invest anything more than that much time. Fun runs out at 10 maybe 15 minutes.

Frustrating bug right off the bat

In the very first quest of the Dwarf’s Tale if you have multiple talismans and discard just one of them you instantly lose (even though you still have one or more talismans in your inventory). I see online that the developers acknowledged this bug in 2019 and said it would hopefully be fixed in the next update. It’s been three years and it’s still there? Feel like I just wasted my money on a buggy game that has zero support.

Beautiful game but needs a couple fixes.

This game is awesome and a fantastic idea for the single player aspect of Talisman the only 2 problems I have are there’s need to be a zoom feature, the print on some cards are too small and there isn’t a native zoom feature and second, you can’t play music or listen to podcast while playing on the app even if you put the SFX and music to “0”. I love the music but I like to listen to my own epic music or podcast while I play. Thank you for making this.

Need a large font or zoom option

The regular version of Talisman has this feature, why not in Origins? I bought a new phone but the screen is smaller, even with 20/20 airline pilot vision I can barely read the cards. Almost every card game app I’ve played has the double tap zoom in option. I’m completely surprised and disappointed by this. I love the concept of Origins but I think I’ll have to stick with the regular talisman app.

There’s another issue

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max , this app hasn’t been working , and now when I delete the app it still says I have the app downloaded , for example, I’m deleting it so I can re download it , but it says open like I have it installed even when I delete it , so I delete the app and it doesn’t give me the option to redownload the app anymore, I’m just tryna play this game, please fix both talisman apps so I can play , I’m craving talisman

Can’t Purchase DLC

When I go to purchase ANY of the dlc, it keeps saying “Product code is invalid”. I really would like to purchase all of them and not being able to is a real bummer. Can someone please help?

A great, but buggy and frustrating experience

I’ve enjoyed playing Talisman for over 25 years now and I think this iOS iteration (as well as the others) is a very well done translation of a classic board game experience into a modern app. That said, I have been repeatedly frustrated by bugs that can render the game unwinnable or bugs that force a loss condition on me that makes no sense. For example... While on the last chapter of the Beyond the Veil story I uncovered an object that would allow me to dispel spirits and the final boss character of that chapter happens to be a spirit. Typically when you get to this boss you would lose all of your objects because you are killed and turned into a spirit yourself to battle him - however, I had another object that made all of my objects and followers soul bound so I could keep them even when I was killed and turned into a spirit. With this in mind, I thought I could simply go to the final boss and use my object to dispel his spirit and complete the chapter. This seemed perfectly reasonable to me, and apparently it seemed *half* reasonable to the game because it *did* dispel the boss, but it also stuck me in an infinite loop where I could only end my turn over and over and over again after that, never triggering the victory and completion of the chapter. This was intensely frustrating because it meant I had to start the entire chapter over again. After starting that chapter over, I came across a card that moved all spirits on the board to the same location - this included the boss character that was typically on the crown of command space at the center. I thought this was great because it meant I could engage him without having to go through the center region at all. Unfortunately, despite the game moving him to the outer region due to that card, it wouldn’t allow me to fight him on that space he moved to. When I made my way to the crown of command, I was once again stuck in an infinite loop, unable to engage the final boss because he wasn’t there and once you’re on that space you can’t leave it unless you die. A third example for you... while playing the first chapter of A Dwarf’s Tale, you have to collect multiple objects and then hold onto them while trying to find an astral conjunction event (or something like that, I forget the exact card). One of those objects you must collect is a talisman. I had gathered all of the objects, including the talisman and was moving around the outer region trying to get the astral conjunction event - if you lose any of these objects you fail the chapter and must start over. Well, before I could get the astral conjunction event, I encountered another card that asked me to roll for a random chance - I rolled a 1 and would be turned into a toad. I knew this would make me drop all my items and thus fail the chapter, so I used a fate point to re-roll - this time I rolled higher and was awarded another talisman. I was already at my object limit though so I couldn’t pick up the new talisman without discarding something I needed - so I simply chose not to take the new talisman. Unfortunately, the game registered this as if I had lost my talisman (keeping in mind that I still had my original talisman in my inventory - I simply declined to take the new one) and thus triggered a failure state, making me restart the chapter. These are just a few examples of absolutely mind bogglingly frustrating bugs that I’ve experienced playing through the various stories on offer. I want to like this game but these sorts of bugs make it hard for me to recommend this to others.
