If you take barebones uninspired gameplay but stick the camera view behind it, you still have barebones uninspired gameplay. Shoving a live camera view into the background of a boring game is not a great demonstration of the promise of AR.

Note: I’ve only really been able to play the inside mode. This definitely has potential. The concept is fun and the gameplay is pretty solid. I think keeping it simple and making progression score-based is a good decision. It makes it very in line with the original game. However, it can get quite repetitive and I have other gripes. I think some kind of long term progression would be nice, even if it didn’t effect gameplay. Maybe you could rarely spot special invaders that come with different colors, gradients, or effects. When you shoot them, you could collect them and have them orbit your ship like a little pet. Maybe they could even provide a small unique boost of some kind. I also generally like the game’s aesthetics, but I think the invaders being flat and untextured is a miss. I think having an internal glow like in Arkanoid v Space Invaders would be nice. The hit boxes are also kinda janky. There are plenty of times where bullets hit me even though it really feels like they shouldn’t. Invaders also frequently clip into geometry and the camera movement can be disorienting. Ultimately, I really hope this game can go somewhere special! I feel alone saying that I’m a big space invaders fan, and it’s been a minute since the series has gotten recognition. This feels like a good start but maybe not a whole game. Please advertise this game more!

I would have love to play this game but as usual developers are more interested collecting data on you than anything else you cannot play the game without intrusive tracking and data collection none of which is necessary for the game play Apple should have a better warning setup for the App Store maybe red flags for privacy and data collection. Tatio the developer your game based on the original had such potential and I would have even paid to buy it except you seem to think privacy is not important and you are entitled to data you do not need SHAME ON YOU

So disappointed. Developers should have added a playable game somehow for those of us in less urban areas. My region is not even that small (30,000 in two contingent localities), yet not able to play at all. I understand this was designed with bigger cityscapes in mind. But it would have made sense to add a consolation game when localities didn’t match requirements for those of us living the dream in the exurbs.
