Space Age is a game of cosmic adventure. Set in the retro-futuristic sci-fi world of 1976, it follows a small but determined band of intergalactic explorers who land on a seemingly uninhabited planet, Kepler-16. They soon discover there’s something both strange and familiar about this alien place… And what happens next is a clash of old and new, a battle of past mistakes and future fallout. “Presented through gorgeous pixel graphics straight out of an adventure game from 20-30 years ago. Not Optimized for Apple Silicon
Wanted to play this game for a long time. Was thinking to play this game once I get my new M1 Max MBP. The dialog speed seems to be unadjustable and goes with the processor speed, the text just go by too fast in this current build.
What a pointless waist of time
As an adventure game it is slow, not very intriguing, and too involved in its own version of reveal that is equal parts contrived and predictable. Then when it tries to be an arcade game it becomes annoying and repetitive. Once I’ve figured out the puzzle, it should be reasonably possible to execute it. Fuzzy controls and poor responsiveness combine with the quaintly dated graphics to make for an almost oxymoronic blend of boredom and hectic frustration. A waist of time, and not in a good way.
Terrible waste of money
The concept is good - and it worked well for about 3 minutes, while finishing the first level. After that, everything stops working. I could no longer click the mouse to move, the screen wouldn’t move when I dragged… It’s very buggy. No ready for primetime. Unfortunately I already gave up $5.
Shift select works now, game is still a dud.
This game progresses way too slowly. Shift Select works in version 1.0.1 so that's a plus.
Shift-to-drag DOES work, sort of
Too bad they let this horrible bug through. Fortunately, you can fix it by restarting the game and leaving it in windowed mode. Otherwise a very engaging and beatiful game. Almost as good as the iOS version. Only docking one star since there’s a (semi)reasonable workaround for the bug.
Not really a game… Just wander around
There’s really not much point to this “game”. All you do is click to wander around, read the text of the non-interactive conversations, then wander around some more. I think I played until chapter 5 or 6 and then you finally get to do SOMETHING, you can click on an alien to shoot him. That’s it, then more reading non-interactive text and wandering around. Pointless, waste of money, waste of time.
Bugs
Agreed. I entered full screen. Now the controls don’t work. Needs to be fixed or refunded. Especially, since they did the obvious plant “Editors Choice.” Their choice was to make money at the cost of the customer.
