The game is great and all, but the rift battles are so rigged!!! I can have a fighter way stronger than the enemy with way more health and I SOMEHOW STILL DIE? Does that make any sense to whoever reads this??? And i play it correctly. It seems kinda unfair.

Been playing Skullgirls on and off again since late 2022. It was fun at first but after a while it’s nearly impossible to get Theonite and keys without paying, which is part of the reason I’ve been so on and off with this game. Another problem I have is with some of the master levels. And while I understand that the master versions of the stories are supposed to challenge you some of the buffs don’t even make sense. This loops back to the problem with obtaining keys because you can’t upgrade the characters you need to without them. Another gripe I have with this game is the some of the character designs. It’s obvious that some of the characters such as Cerebella or Eliza are catered to the male gaze simply by looking at their designs. I also find the fact that they make some of the characters skirts so short that you can see their underwear whenever they kick a bit peculiar. The male characters (which there are only 2 of) are, on the other hand, completely covered. They’ve been saying new stories to play through are “Coming Soon!” for the longest of time but still haven’t added any new ones to the game. I can applaud them for the rate at which they release new characters but I personally dont see a point in releasing new characters if we they aren’t released with a origin story. Besides the new characters there haven’t been any big content updates that change the game, leaving more to be desired. I can tell that the developers put a lot into this game but there’s too much wrong with it to give it a full 5 stars.
