No new missions, AR is glitchy
I explored the app after getting the Enterprise built when it first came out. AR is novel, but challenging to keep active without a lot of space around the model. The sound effects console in the app are fun. I just came back to it after a year and a half to try the mission with my nine year-old grand daughter. The AR seems even less forgiving now after a few iOS upgrades to my iPad Pro (large size). The system gear icons are often masked strangely, and the final one in the engine room is enormous and masked by the model itself. Had to randomly tap in the engine room to activate it. Also very disappointed that there are no more missions available. I also see a warning pop up message when starting the mission about some license expiring in five days. What?!
PLAYMOBIL Enterprise AR app, could be better.
So, I got this for Christmas, it’s huge and pretty amazing for the starship itself. The App could use a bit of work. It has the standard sounds (engines, torpedoes, red alert. But I’d love for them to add the ability to play the theme song, or for Kirk to ask for shields…etc, especially as the next item they built is a Klingon bird of prey. Additionally for the couch mode it only allows for 1 mission currently, so after it’s done, there’s not much else to do in the app. Having an interactive schematic (blueprint) of the enterprise would be pretty awesome or a basic walkthrough/interaction while exploring the ship. Like I said, it’s good, but not great.
???
Can someone give me the rundown on this app please? I know there’s a toy, but how does it relate to the app? Because I actually found this fun, But I would like more!
Overall fun
Only a bit more sounds than the toy already gives. Wish it had a couple more sounds. The “dematerialization” button actually gives a communicator sound. Was hoping it would make the transporter sounds. Fun sound options, haven’t gotten all the way through the game, but it’s a bit more complex than young kids might be able to get through unless one of the parents is a Trekkie.
