Intriguing but
Overall, the game is made very competently. The plotline is solid and very hooking, and learning historical facts along the way is a nice bonus. I’ve learned quite a lot about the conflicts between nations during the early 20th century in Russia just from the first chapter alone. I enjoy the characters, especially the main character, Pyotr, and I like his internal struggle. The visuals remind me of gacha life, in that it’s mostly limbs moving around on screen, but the editing and effects are very nicely made and give off a ghostly and somber vibe. However, the game is laggy and glitchy. Some parts of it are intentional, like during Pyotr’s nightmare, but other parts of the game just lag for half a second, so it seems like the screen jumps around or characters jump around. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem since the game has enough going for it to outweigh that little nitpick, BUT the lagging makes playing the game very nauseating. I constantly felt sick or like I was going cross-eyed when it happened, which is very, very often.
这么好的游戏 不在中国发了 唉
!
Much more than what I expected
Everything this game has is something I don’t know that I wanted. Now I have played Pechka, my expectation for visual novel become impossibly high. I hope Pechka could get extra stories or something like that in the future, maybe Pyotr’s life when he first arrive at Vladivostok, or how Asya started the red wolf, there’s so much backstory stuffs I want to see from Pechka!
