This will only work if the amount of flags placed around the open cell is equal to the number on that cell Coins: • Earn 1 coin for 1 correct mine flag • Earn bonus coins for completing a game Save your profile to the cloud with iCloud: • You can save your themes and stats with iCloud and restore them later if you happen to switch to a different device. Make sure you are logged into your iCloud account on your device. Also make sure that iCloud Drive is enabled in your iCloud settings on your device otherwise your themes and stats will not be saved. Make sure you are logged into Game Center (if you are not automatically logged in): • Click on the leaderboards button located in the Stats window • If the game doesn't log you in or prompt a login window after a few seconds close the app • Go to your device's settings and login to Game Center from there • Open Minesweeper Classic: Retro and click on the leaderboards button again and it should log you in Enjoy!
Glitches. A lot.
This version of Minesweeper glitches an awful lot. When you’re clearly in marking mode and go to mark a bomb, it reveals the bomb as if you’d detonated it. It will do the reverse in the other mode, too. No rhyme or reason.

This is a true and proper port of Minesweeper with obvious attention put towards the graphic design which honors the original pixelation style. Beyond serving the exact nostalgia I was looking for, there are countless levels of control over your experience (almost to a developer extent) in the menus. Additionally there are daily challenges that keeps things fresh and a large array (I think over 60 at current) of fun themes to unlock (my personal favorite is the honeybear theme). Huge fan of this adaptation. I wouldn’t waste my time considering other versions if, like me, you’re just trying to get a hit of the 90s/2000s without any letdowns or having to settle for “close enough”.

This game has tons of features and customizability, the retro look is amazing and the controls are easy to learn and get used to. The only downside to this game are the ads (the developer has to make money somehow) but they are infrequent and remain short. 9.8 / 10
