Progression doesn’t make sense
You get a frankly awful champion to start. One of the main recommendations of the community is to buy a different one with in game currency ASAP. Then there’s something called Masteries, and if you use a card enough times you “master” it, but if you do this too many times to cards of that color, you bump into a higher difficulty, whether you’re ready or not. So really the advice of the community is “don’t progress, and don’t play with what they give you.” Game needs to revamp this system asap as it has tons of potential, but their systems are really out of whack. Furthermore, staying in a lower difficulty still nets you a similar Pve difficulty as the higher level players, you’re only holding back to avoid the tougher players in PvP events. There are event bosses you can’t beat without special cards (Tiamat) and the devs have disregarded the communities feedback.
This game is vastly unfair
Trust me when I say I love strategy games, and this is not one of them unless you can shill out hundreds of dollars for every card and finally build a decent deck. The AI will always play the optimal move and somehow always get a massive combo because the game will always spawn in the colors on the board for it. Sure you can play against people, but my experience so far has been pub stomp after pub stomp of people playing pay to win decks or decks that took them 3 years grinding. Do not waste your time. It will lull you in by being super easy at first and then after 3 days you’ll hit a massive wall of resistance that only money can buy
Aaaaawwweessssome Game!
More specific instructions would help newcomers like myself understand EXACTLY how to play. Have a step by step tutorial mode
Fun take on MTG
I like this game, but I’m ready for the creators to ban Omniscience. I’m tired of playing against decks where I make 2 moves and then the opponent hits a loop and kills me with no chance to interact. Not fun then.
Small issue
The system had a glitch recently that wouldn’t allow me to log in. Had to research how to get in contact with them. After a day or so and several e-mails back and forth finally found the solution was to delete the app and reinstall. I appreciated the help but there was nothing done about content missed for the 2 days I couldn’t log in. I’m happy to have it fixed, just thought maybe they would have done something for the loss.
good core, rebalancing needed
This game has a lot going for it, including great card art, a variety of events, and planeswalkers with abilities distinct enough that they really do play differently. There has been so much content added, though, that unexpected interactions have arisen. It’s possible to set up unending cycles of matches and card drawing. It’s nice that there are plenty of card decks to choose from, but the developers need to take a break from adding even more cards and rebalance some of the ones already available. When it’s possible for an opponent to get up to 15 free swaps and take a 20+ minute turn, it’s time for me to get out. I did have some fun, though, and with careful work by the developers other people could too.
Best mobile MTG game.
Uses Magic: The Gathering cards in a match 3 world. Extremely stimulating and intellectual, and free-to-play is very viable. Lots of support from the player community as well, through YouTube and podcasts.
