Inspired by the military theory of Carl von Clausewitz and the European war campaigns of Napoleon, Kriegspiel is a chess-variant played by two opposing players on a 20 x 25 game board. Capture the enemy's Arsenals to win. Deploy your Lines of Communication to keep friendly units in contact. Block enemy lines for strategic advantage. "The surprises of this Kriegspiel seem to be inexhaustible," wrote French Situationist Guy Debord. In Debord's view the game represents the totality of factors at play in wartime maneuvers, what he called "the dialectic of all conflicts." -- Play 2P online against another player -- Play 2P in person on the same device -- Practice against the computer -- Level editor for customizing formations -- Language support for French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, and English Kriegspiel is produced and maintained by Alexander R. Galloway. The game is noncommercial. There are no in-app purchases. No advertisements. No Patreon. No GoFundMe. No monetization of player data. There is literally no possible way to take your money.
Bro stop
i hate this game i uninstall but it still send me notification
Still learning, enjoying a lot!
I have been really enjoying this game and learning the mechanics. So far I have only played the computer as I don’t usually have time for an online. I really wish there was more difficult AI to play against! I’m also trying to convince my friends to play this with me.
super addicting!
incredibly simple and easy to learn, yet incorporates lots of strategy. the graphics enhance the experience imho. my only two complaints are that nobody ever seems to be online to play and the practice bot is waaay too easy. also it would be nice to have a board editor to make your own scenarios or recreate historical battles
The Classic Strategy Boardgame.
Great UI, if only every tablet game were this clean and uncluttered! Players simulate Napoleonic tactics with cavalry, infantry, and artillery. No dice. it’s somewhere between chess/shogi and an entry level wargame. It really teaches you the importance of combined arms tactics, and even more so the importance of keeping open clean lines of command back to your HQ.… units that’s are out of command become easy prey for the enemy. It’s very clean and intuitive gameplay, but deep. The AI is fairly weak, and playing it you will feel like Napoleon versus the Austrians, but it’s good enough to teach you the basics. If I had one request to the developer, it would be nice if we had a couple of alternate maps to play on, although I realize getting one just right must take a lot of work. Also, the tutorial could use some explanation of retreat.
Chess but better.
This is a amazing strategy game. I hope it takes off. The only thing I feel is lacking is that practice mode could use some more difficult settings.
Crash
Started to play vs Computer but it kept crashing. Deleted
Looks good but unplayable. (FIXED)
Game instantly crashes as soon as I move the first unit I’m the tutorial. It looks fun but I literally cannot play. Please fix ): EDIT: Game dev told me how to fix the issue, so I’m editing it to 4 stars since I can actually play now. Probably will be 5 if I really like it.
Fixed bug in AI for players using iOS v17.
