I was a little harsh on his app because I wanted to utilize the CFOP learning but couldn't on a mobile platform. I still think that ridiculous. But this cube did teach me more effective cubing and the app interface is fun and motivational for a person like me who loves reward systems. I went from being able to solve a cube in 30 minutes to 1 minute in a week. It's a good toy and a good app because it works. My kids love it. The little games helped me read notation faster and generally become more intuitive. I do still practice on a proper speed cube but when I'm moving around my daily life, this ends up being the cube I carry. I like having the statistics and beating myself and it's a fun parlor trick to solve the cube quickly and it light up.

It's fun. It's definitely geared toward beginners but for an $80 cube, the app needs to accommodate people getting better and still finding value in the toy. The CFOP academy only being desktop is absurd in this day and age, don't assume that the only people who would like to learn that are hardcore cubers. I don't even own a desktop.
